Sunday SHARE

I had the honor to do a custom order for my MILs friend at work and well I thought I would share some of the photos of the books I made ---

she need 2 wedding albums, a birthday album

(inside pages of the fancier wedding album)

A new baby girl album (love this shabby album)

(inside pages of baby girl album)

Here is the 2nd wedding album...
she said the colors were raspberry & gold...
I had trouble with this one - wasn't sure about the colors...

I left the album pretty basic...wasn't sure how to make it anymore wedding-ish...

I am thrilled to say that she received the albums yesterday and she loved them ALL!!!!

I love to make these mini albums....and I would love to make you one too...leave me a comment and we can talk...

Have a great week...xo

Shabby punk

I found my style awhile back when I gave up using digi images and I decided it was kind of worn, kind of funky and a little bit shabby.
However, my cards still run the gammit of "ALL OVER" the place.
But I am happy to say that yesterdays card did stay true to "MY" style....

I used some green ticking looking fabric by Anna Griffin
added some fun self made border strips, a 7 gypsies tag, prima flowers
and a Tim Holtz key hole made with grunge board & some crackling goo
and gotta tell you "I LOVE IT" - for a steam punky with a bit of shabby thrown in. "MY" style, and another " WHATEVER" card to add to my pile.

Happy Thursday

Thinking of YOU

So it's been awhile since I posted but I haven't had much to say.
Do you ever feel like "What's the point?"
Well I have been feeling that way lately. Then I thought - what the heck
I care - I want to remember - I am doing this blog thing FOR ME!!!
That's the point...so on with MY show...

I finally felt the urge to make some cards.
I am quite the crafty chick but find that I never give out my "handmade" cards.
I always buy them...duh! Just silly really.

So here is my first "WHATEVER" card.
Meaning it could be for whenever no set occasion...

I love pink and black - they have to be my favorite color combo.
I think it's because it reminds me of PARIS>>>>

I used some washi tapes for the bottom borders and some new stamp by
THE GIRLS PAPERIE and my prima flowers & pearls...
Makes for a grat card to have on hand

ProjEct Life

Alot has happened in the last 2 weeks. And this time
I took lots of photos. I am sure it mattered most that it happened
to be Easter week and much preparation was had...
Well I uploaded these photos backwards...
hate when that happens...but this is last weeks shanigans...
egg dyeing, egg hunt and family Easter photo.

Once again I gotta tell you that I am so happy I invested in
in those page protectors with the varied slots...
It gives my pages so much more depth and lets your eye
travel all around the page...

here a close up

these next few pages are of the last week in March
and boy when I journaled all that we did that week - WOW
we were busy - crazy busy.

My girls really had alot of stuff to do with friends and girls scouts.

That was the week of the MEGA Millions Lottery so took photos of my
tickets and my win--a whole $7.00 - oh well maybe next time.
All in all alot was done and great memories were added here in my
Project Life Binder...

I gotta tell you that I am thrilled I am participating this year in what has turned out to be such a great inspiration to scrapbook much more than photos but also pieces of our week...

I hope your project life is going well - remember baby steps and no pressure...

a QUICK pick ME up!

I haven't stamped in while and I realized I have been missing being crafty and creating...
so I decided to get back into the swing of things and made this sweet card
that I thought would be a sweet PICK ME UP

nice words right - and I think, secretly,  I made this for me...re-assuring me that I am not too old
to figure out what my purpose is...in MY LIFE or THIS life.
I used papers by basic grey and some bits & pieces added some pink lace to the bottom
and of course my trusty prima flowers...and blue pearls

here is another photos of the actual colors of the card - sorry for the blurriness

Hope you have an uplifting day!

Quicky Easter centerpiece

I have lots of great ideas and not always the time to get stuff done...
but I wanted to make a nice (not too fancy) easy centerpiece - using things I had
and hey maybe even something I made...well here is what I came up with...

I had a pretty white vase and added some green floral foam and added some
moss and some blue paper shred inside then just started adding the "SCHTUFF"
Those 4 glittered eggs on a stick are something I made  and LOVE
then I added some vintage flower picks to the vase and that there chickie is just to fill up space.
it's simple maybe a bit to busy but tall enough for the table without blocking peoples view...

this is the corral I am planning to use for tomorrows brunch - I am going to add silver ware
into the jars and maybe a candle inside one...we'll see - don't want any burned fingers...

Anyway - here's wishing you got your centerpiece made and are ALMOST ready for tomorrows lunch or dinner...Happy Pre-Easter...

Feeling Scrappy

I have wanted to keep my scrapbooking up this year and get some pages done on a regular basis
and well I think this year I have gotten off to a great start...Here is my 3rd page this year...

You know the rule in scrapbooking-start from your earliest photos so you don't feel over-whelmed?
Well-I didn't follow that rule...I scrapped last summer's beach photos...and I kept it simple, used some
great MODEL shots I took and shrunk them down to 3 x 5 size and made that the
highlight of the page, for the accents I just took some scraps strip of paper and used my punches to make some cute border strips....added a punched doily flower (all punches are MS)

The journaling is just the NAME of the  place the photos were taken.
Real simple.
I gotta tell you that I still have trouble with the single photo layouts - I try hard but I take so many photos
of one vacation or day out and to limit my pages to one photos - oh me oh my!!!!
I just can choose. But I want to work on that!

Spring Mantel

Just wanted to take a minute and share a few shots of my Spring Mantel...
I have to admit that I have trouble decorating my mantel - I usually leave up certain things
and try to add holiday decorations amongst the others but somehow I never seem quite pleased
with the whole set up...anyway, here it is...
I love old stainless steel pieces - cups, trays goblets and candle sticks
and I love having those pieces out...oh and have been trying to start a small collection
of apothecary jars - but have trouble filling and re-filling them...

those blue birds and white rabbit I got in the target dollar spot for 2.50 (doh!)
and the tree too...I love it and love the simplicity of the animals...

and then my banners...I often look at my mantel and other household
decorations and think - It looks so childish...so kidd-ish then my hubby reminds me
that it's KID FRIENDLY and what should I expect with a house full of kids...
I guess so long as my kids appreciate the decorations and is something they can remember
then I am doing something right....

anywhoo...

Hows your mantel & spring decor going?

most EGG-cellent banner

I know we are all in a mad dash to get our Easter brunch menu all squared away, helping the Easter bunny get all the supplies needed for basket making, and of course we can forget our Spring Decorations.
Hopefully we have a box of "yearly" stuff to choose from but us crafters always need to be creating and if you are anything like me then you are still making some goodies to add to this years decorations.

Here is something that I came up with simply by accident - happens alot.
I bought these Easter eggs in the dollar spot at Target and noticed these holes in the top and bottom.
interesting right?

Before I get ahead of myself let me give you the supplies you need - all of which I am sure you have in your stash...you need some plastic eggs (with holes) some bakers twine or thin string (to fit into holes)

also some scissors and some miscellaneous bits of fabric
to match your decor

So begin to string the eggs on the twine like this:

then cut small strips of fabric and tie between the eggs in a random order

and tah-dah - easy and quick little  bit of Spring and you could totally make this longer
using a few bags of eggs...

here it is added to my Spring Mantel!

and here is a close up. I love it and my kids have already asked me for one for their room...

Well I hope you liked this fun banner
