Keeping it simple

I posted recently that I was really trying to keep things simple - I am amidst
preparing for a big holiday craft show and so my mind is racing with so many things
that I need to get done. So when doing my "In Between" crafts I try and make simple things.

Take this card - it is just some layers...NO stamping again.
The sentiment is by Melissa Frances and just some Anna Griffin papers...
easy peasy but I love all the different pieces - they work together.

What do you think?

Something about the different patterns that I think works well together and
of course the PINK just makes me happy!

This works for the following challenges:
scrap-creations -  its a girl thing
anything goes - anything goes
crafty creations - clean & simple

Hope you are keeping busy today.
Have a terrific day-xo

Take Flight

Feeling like keeping things simple here - my mind is filled with
TO - DO lists. I have so much to do and am feeling totally disorganized.
I wanted to make a card or two and didn't feel much like stamping.
so here is what I came up with.

I used some fun script paper and a piece of tape measure paper
from Theresa Collins, a fabric flower and a bottle cap.
There was a time when I loved and used bottle caps quite often in
my crafting...
I added a sweet collaged image in a bottle cap shape ( 1 in. circle)
and added to the center of the flower.
Gotta tell you the adage is true -
SIMPLE IS BETTER...
fell in Love with this card!!!

(here is an up close of the flower center!)

Happily this sweet and simple card works for the following challenges:

sisterhood of crafters- for the birds
scrap-creations- anything goes
crazy challenge - 3 colors of choice

hope you have a magical day!

giving thanks

When I saw this image over at CDAC I knew I would use it
for this weeks challenge (ongoing) and it was screaming FALL
I used my copics to color her up and now that I look at this
boy do I need some practice on the copic coloring indeed.

Anyway, kept it pretty simple since the image was pretty big and I really wanted
the sunflower to take center stage...I added the stamped BLESSINGS
and some pearls and 1 button...see simple...

I am giving thanks right now for LIFE in general...I am very Happy today!
Hope you are feeling happy in your life and if not then hopefully
HAPPY TODAY.

this card works for the following challenges:
CDAC - ongoing
craft your passion - anything goes
bloggers challenge - who's got the button

Have a spectacular day!

Sweet Love

I wanted to share a sweet card I made for my sweety.
Yesterday was our 12 year anniversary!
We went out for a steak & a movie - steak was DELISH - the movie was so-so
we watched DRIVE - it was long and weird and pretty graphic...
boy - lets rewind...here is my card - I gave it to him at dinner...

Sweet right. I used some yummy basic grey papers and used my MS punch for the
brown paper to add some texture. I used one of my vintage photographs (thats not us)
then added one of my hand stamped tickets and a pin to some vintage seam binding.
Oh yeah I added the our anniversary date on the side (see it there)

Here we are - still in LOVE!
I gotta tell you - I am happy to say that we are very much in LOVE still.
Is that weird...or just to early...regardless I couldn't see myself being more
comfortable, feeling prettier or laughing as much with anyone else.
o,k. enough sappiness...

Luckily this card works for the following challenges:

craft your passion - anything goes
the pink elephant - inspiration challenge

Hope your Monday is wonderfully fantastic.

School's Cool

I wish I thought that when I was in High School...
I think I would have paid more attention and tried alot harder.
I definitely would have gone to college, longer than a year and some trade school.
I can only hope that my kids do better than I did.

I have 4 kids, oldest is a boy (20) and youngest is a boy (4)
two girls in the middle - 11 & 9
Oldest just skated by in school - youngest like school to play but hates doing school work...
Oldest daughter loves school and youngest daughter well NOT to much...

We'll see how that goes...Keeping my fingers crossed.
I got this image as a freebie from CDAC
its part of a long challenge...for great big prizes...

I made this card as my:
POSITIVE ATTITUDE leads to positive change mentality-hopefully it works.

Here are the youngest members of the School Crew...

I am linking this card up to the following challenges:
creative card crew - anything goes
high hope stamps - back to school
CDAC - image

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Friday already???

Omg - where does the time go...
I swear this heat has got me a bit loopy!
Not to mention that I have been pounded on by 1st sinuses that seems to have
turned into some wicked allergies (at least I hope they are) I hate being sick.

I have to be honest - I have yet to make a card but did get a custom paper bag album
done for a sweet lady I met at a Farmers Market I did.

She wanted a sweet princess album....

I adore these papers and embellishments

It's dainty but still sweet.

It says princess all over it...dont'cha think?

I hope she likes it!

Well, dearies - I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Soccer starts tomorrow - so we have 3 games to go to...hopefully it's
not to hot...Stay cool.

so Blue

My card is anyway

I am loving this monochromatic color scheme here.

I think I love this robins egg blue color mostly - I think it is so soft and happy - sort of freeing
Do you get that? Sorry for going so deep on a color...
Anyway - today is Labor Day and I had to take a minute to make a card that represented how proud I am
to live in this amazing country. Thanks to all those that fight to keep this a FREE country.
I think this card says it all - no matter where you are in the world...
HOME IS WHERE YOU HANG YOUR HEART
For those that are far & away from loved ones to those that have family living close by
we can make home just about any place...

Have a fantastic day - hopefully you'll be spending it with family
My little brother is coming over and we will be meeting his new baby girl - can't wait.

God Bless

p.s. this card works for the following challenges:

creative card crew - anything goes
bloggers challenge - monochromatic
crafting when we can - anything goes
charisma cardz  - anything goes

Sunday fun DAY

Not sure about you but sometimes long weekends get tough with little kids.
I guess they get bored and then begins the fighting.
So today I pulled out the colored, quick & easy to make
play-dough recipe

The fun part is that each kid gets to pick their color of food coloring and since it
is really so easy and quick they can pour the items into the pan themselves
and get'er going...
It's a win win situation and if you stop by the dollar tree and pick up 3
small plastic containers for a buck  - they can keep it in their rooms - no mix-ups!
yeah and hopefully for your house it'll keep them busy for an hour or more...
here it only kept them busy for about 25 minutes::: oh well!!! I tried.

Here is the recipe:

ingredients:

1 cup water
1 tbs vegetable oil
1 tbs cream of tartar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
few drops of food coloring
saucepan

directions:

Combine water, oil, salt, cream of tartar, flour and food coloring in pan; heat on medium and stir until it starts to form a ball - mix well

turn out onto a cutting board and begin to knead (very hot - adult should knead)
add some flour to the board and knead into dough

let kids have fun with it ---- super safe in case you have a little one who like to try everything (like I do)

store dough in air tight container or a zip-lock freezer with air pushed out.

Have a great weekend...xo
