Memorial Weekend

Howdy and hello there!
Yeah it's Friday - so the first 2 days of summer have been A-ok!
my girls have kept busy and have NOT had a break down but the
3 year old well he has been non-stop fighting and crying - argh!!!
other than that not to bad.

Tonight I am going to be selling at a farmers market so I have been busily
creating fun goodies to take to that. Thanks to my family for really helping out!

I made this card using KITES 2 FLY by stamps for life...made it with
some paper scraps (literally) and popped up the kite then added
a sweet bow charm to the end and some blue stickes to the kite
I like it - sorry for the yellow photo

Well hope you have a fun and relaxing weekend ahead.

I am linking this card up to the following:
for fun challenges - patriotic colors
paper play time - add a charm
polly craft - charms, buttons, sparkle
Have a great day!

Last day of school

its her last day of school - she will now enter into Junior High//
eeks - can't believe it.
For her teacher I decided to create a cute card
I used the same image I used for Mondays card but changed
up the layout a bit. Used the same paper from cosmo cricket and
my fave Prima flowers

I wanted to show you what my daughter did to the inside of the card
She found a poem she liked and printed it out and used some pinking shears to
add to the finished piece.

I love that she thinks outside the box...

She is off today too and going into the 4th grade...
My how time flies.

Our summer starts today at 12:15 - crazy I just can't get over it.

Ok. well I am off to buy some absolutely necessary summer supplies:
advil for the forseeable headaches, some candy to keep them quiet and some magazines
to read while I am hiding out in the bathroom when the noise and fighting is just unbearable.
Just keepin' it real people.

Have a great Wednesday

Thanks teach!

I just recieved the sweetest award and gift from my daughters third grade teacher.
I was really surprised since I only helped out once in the class.
But she has been a special person in both my daughter's lives -
she was my 10 year olds 3rd grade teacher
and now my 8 year old is with her and she is really a rock star of a teacher.

I decided to make her a sweet card and I have a gift in mind; will share that later
I just bought these cute stamps
called Betsy BlueBell by Penny Black
and they are the cutest images of the sweetest little girl...
I also used fun papers from Cosmo Cricket and flowers by Prima*

The image is mounted to a bookmark I created
that my daughters teacher can remove and use and hopefully
remember my sweet girl while she reads...

What are you making for the teacher's in your lives?

I am linking this card to the following challenges:
craft your passion challenges - let it all hang out
something hanging over the edge

Have a great week.
My girls are out for summer this Wednesday - crazy right???

Cute Idea

back in the day when I used stampin up products I tried my hand at making
some gift to give my "not-so" crafty friends
SO I stamped out the images on some white CS then used my scallop punch to make the tag
mini card and popped up the image
here is a shot of the tag opened up so you can add you own sentiment

sorry for the blurry picture

but here is the finished tin with the tags inside
cute idea right? but back then it was definitely not worth the time
and effort it took. I like to think I could stamp these out in a flash
nowadays - wow what time does for your creativity.

Hope you have a great sunday.

mini notecards

I buy those 1.00 stamps at Michael's all the time and they are
actually quite small and wouldn't look right,
I think on a normal sized card. So I decide to use 2 of them
and make small notecards. I added the stamped images to a small shipping tag
(see really small)...with designer paper and one extra matching
scrap and of course prima flowers.
Simple and to the point - sometimes that's best.

what have you been up to?

Submission card

Here is a new card I created for a submission challenge for STAMPERS SAMPLER
May 15th deadline and of course I forgot to send it in.
Bummer -
it was a template challenge - which was the JAR shape
I again used scraps for the front of the card and cut out the jar from
a transparency and stamped my image with staz-on and colored
the back of the transparency with my copics...
It was a two step process as seen here.
All in all I liked the way the whole card came out but
bummed out that I didn't send it in...
shoot.

Hope your Tuesday is wonderful.
It is dark and gray and rainy here in SoCal!
weird for almost June.

Shabby Goodness

Lovely mishap....is what this card is...
I had some scraps from an album I am creating and decided to put them on the
front of this large 7 x 4 card.
and since it was such a big space and not wanting to completely cover
up the shabby paper - I decided to use a large flower that
matched as my focal point. I added a punched clip art image
that I glossy accented and painted a chipboard bird (new fave accent) then
glittered it up and added a resin scroll...to finish it off. I inked the edges of all the
pieces of paper to give it a worn look.
There is no sentiment so it could work as a thank you card, congrats card or maybe
even a sympathy card or perhaps a welcome summer card.

I adore this shabby-ness of the card - the soft colors and the images. Totally my style.

Hope you like it too.

Happy Weekend.

I am linking this up to the following challenges:
aud sentiments - no senitment
craft us crazy - fave embellishment/somethingnew
cute card thursday - so distressing

Clean and simple

Needed a smooth and easy project to slide back into blogging.
Didn't realize the lapse...I have been having some "stuff" going on
around here lately that seems to be consuming me.

Here's what I hate:
When there is a problem - not necessarily mine but the
commotion of taking care of said problem consumes up my
day and then I check the time and GAHHH!!! my day is gone
and I realize I got nothing done...can I say when that happens
(like yesterday) I cry in total exaspiration...I just can't believe that
I let things "OTHER PEOPLE THINGS" take over my
ENTIRE DAY!!! but today, TODAY is a good day!
I also must say that my dear hubby is my ROCK STAR - i couldn't
fall apart like I did yesterday and bounce back so fast without him...
(love your guts, hun!)

o.k. so I made this card to ease my way back into life so to speak!!

Ironic really, the sentiment is exactly what I needed to
hear yesterday! SO this is for you...

I am linking this up to the following:
craft your passion - gingham/checks/plaid
cupcake craft challenges - gingham & roses
paper crafting world - 2 shades of pink & ribbon

Happy Wednesday to you my friends.

Mothers Are:

A mother can sense danger a mile away.
A mother will show you the right thing to do.
A mother will make the pain go away.
A mother will celebrate you anytime,
will cheer you up any hour,
will hold you up at your weakest point.
A mother can find the good in the bad.
A mother will ease your worry.
A mother can make magic with very little.
A mother is someone who loves with all her heart and cares with all her might.
A mother will not give up on her child no matter how lost they get.
A mother will try and solve the problems to make life easier for her children.
A mother shares her joys, sorrows, and fears with her children and shares the lesson
to be learned through it all.

I had a mother who I learned this from and I have begun to share the same with my children.

I know many of us sometimes feel that we are not meeting our childrens needs in some form or another
or perhaps we are too hard on ourselves when we yell or lose our temper.
Maybe we doubt ourselves on a daily basis, maybe we wish (if only for a moment) that this was NOT our life. After we go through all this we feel a guilt - an overwhelming guilt. We are harder on ourselves - more so
then we need to be.

You may not know me - You may be visiting my blog for the first time tonight
But I want to say to you -

We are NOT perfect - we as mothers do our best with all our heart
we try - every day.
Thats all we can do. It's o.k. to make mistakes-just remember we have all felt it one day or another
we have all been there. You are NOT alone. Tomorrow is our chance to make it right!

YOU ARE A GOOD MOM...
I believe that.

Happy Mothers Day

penned the reminder

Oops!

Now this is what scrapbooking is for right?
To capture the things you don't ever want to forget...
Well this is one of those moments...
I know I blogged about this before but I finally got it scrapbooked...
so as seen in chronological order
I decided to give my little guy a hair cut and didn't realize (until it was too late) I had picked the shortest
shaver and well -
Photo #1 - I got a photo of the final cut (don't look closely) super short
Photo #2 - He is smiling because I was praising him for how great he looked
(like any mother would, right?)
Photo #3- He finally looked in the mirror
YUP he HATED it!

But so worth scrapbooking and now he'll have it to show his son one day!
love that!

Gratitude

Hey there - busy weekend over here, how about you?
I made up this quick card to express my gratitude for YOU!
Because although I don't see you all out there
I do know you stop by and I appreciate that - lots.

So here I used 3 different papers, added some faux stitching to my mats added a couple of flowers and a button and tried something new and colored this little lady in not the norm colors. Weird but with this card it works.

Hope your week has started off wonderfully.

I am linking this up to the following challenges:
crazy for challenges - recipe (3diff papers/2 flowers/1 button)
one stop craft challenge - in stitches (faux or real)
sweet stampin - try something new
