Cowboy Scrap

Geesh, I think I forgot how to scrapbook.
Shame on me!
Here's a page I just finished that should have been done in Dec 2010

Let me say that this is very simple - not like my usual
style...I have a small arsenal of scrapbooking embellishments and
seem to have forgotten to add any to this page...

I keep re-assuring myself that it is a boy page so it's o.k.
that it's not real busy but really!
Back to the drawing board.

Hope your Easter plans are going off withtout a hitch.

Quick pick me up

Needed a GET WELL CARD and didn't have any on hand so I made a mad dash
to my stash...heehee just made a funny...
anyway, I never make my own cards but this time I did...
o.k. so get ready for quick and easy

Step 1: fold the CS in half
Step 2: use a border punch to add decoration to the top of the card
Step 3: use die-cut flower pieces to front of card as embellishment/add glimmer (hard to see)
Step 4 : Stamp GET WELL SOON (stamps for life)
Step 5: stamps greeting or hand write...
DONE...whew...
And I must say it is quite charming

What are you working on these days?

Happy Tuesday

Colorful egg garland

I know we have all made a banner or garland of some sort at one time or another
and what better time than now right before Easter.
Here is a quick, easy and FREE really project you can have your kids do.

You just need those FREE sample paint swatches from the home improvement
stores and an oval punch or an egg punch if you can find those...
and really since it's spring you can use any large punch you wish...
maybe a butterfly or bird punch...

Punch out as many eggs as you can....
then just sew right through the middle of them...
your kids can do the punching and YOU do the sewing

and when all is said and done you have a really cool garland that
was basically free to make and you could make one for
every room in your house.

Have fun...

Something sweet

I am a scrapbooking girl at heart - although I seem to have lost my way in that area
a bit. But I always am making albums for SALE just not really taking the time to complete
my own...so to help get me in the mood to scrap - I thought I would make an
EXPLOSION ALBUM-all about MOM
it is a scrapbook in a box...very cute and can hold a WOPPING 22 photos

Aren't the papers I used simply shabby-licious...
I made 2 of these one to put into my etsy shop and one to play with...
not sure if I want to use it to showcase MIO or to memoralize my MOM...
maybe both of us..
hmmm that sounds like a great idea.

I am off to jet set in Santa Barbara...I mean hang out with the Hubs and kids in Santa Barbara.

What ever you do this weekend I hope it is FUN.

Soft & Sweet

Wow Wednesday already.
Time sure flies when you are having fun...NOT.
I have been kind of stressed out---not really my issue but someone close to me's problem.
I know - you shouldn't worry too much about someone else's problem but
I am one of those people that like to fix things - you too?

anyway,

I have been trying to create cards a bit more in my style which is
shabby, vintage and distressed...
Here is one I made last week and found the perfect challenges to submit
it to.
what do you think?

The best part is that I used one stamp - well 2 if you count the Happy Mothers Day stamp
and 2 different DPs - cool - scruffed up the stamped image with inks and sanding tool
and hard to see but added some lace...nice huh?

I will be sharing this card with
fLUTTER BY WEDNESDAYS - pastel colors
ANITA BE STAMPIN - anything goes

Have a great night...

Makng it Pretty Monday

If you are like me you pray and read scriptures and sometimes
want to remember something you read or perhaps use it another day
and if you are ALSO like me - you have a horrible memory...
So I came up with this clever idea (I think) to make a pocket sized
notebook that I can take with me to church or bible study - you get the idea...

I had the typical 8 x 11 pad of lined paper cut down at my office depot store

added some Oh So GIRLY paper to the front...
those dots around the paper are rub-ons from an old stash
I had. Used my wonderful alphabet stickers (love these guys)
then added one of MY paper posies to the front...
I will share those tomorrow.

Here is the inside...ready for some great scripture or some words of wisdom

See everything could use a bit of GIRL-ing up a bit...
I think when something looks pretty you are more apt to use it. Dont'cha agree?

I am linking this pretty prayer journal up to the following parties:

What are you making pretty today?

Home Sweet Home

There is no place like home
I love it when Dorothy says those words in the wizard of oz...
It's true really...
AND I am just learning that a home is what you make of it.
I have a dream of living somewhere else...in my home of FOREVER
and while it all seems like a dream - it has become my
mission. It is my relentless attempt to mke it come to fruition
by next summer. I can see the light...I will perservere...

So with my DREAM HOME in mind...
I created this card with the new set of stmaps by stamps of life called houses2 build (i think)
I was really drawn to these colors and I even created another project with
the same stamps and colors....to be shared soon

Hope you like this
What are you dreaming of lately!

Simple

Sometimes simple is best.
sometimes you just need quick and easy!
Sometimes, you want to feel accomplished and if simple gets you there
then so be it.
Here is my way too simple card using the easter set from Stamps For Life

Could even seem boring but I guess you do with what little time you have
and this is all I had time for yesterday...

Ever have those days when time runs out and you wonder where it all went?

Here's to a more productive couple of days.
Have a great Thursday, friends.

cute right?

Hope your Easter plans are coming along nicely.

Howdy

Well it's almost Saturday
and I wanted to take a minute and wish you a happy weekend.
It's busy 'round these parts and while I love to blog
it sometimes doesn't fit into my day...I want to do better with that.

So because I appreciate all my followers and friends that visit me
I wanted to make you all a special card
to let you know that I am here and appreciate you taking the time to visit me
even when I don't post as often as I should

Hope you like it and can feel the LOVE I am sending to YOU!

I'll be by again this weekend...
Hope your weekend is fabulous.
