Help....

I hope your Christmas was spectacular.
Ours was wonderful. Very cool thing happened this year, I got everything I wanted
on my list...yes a list. My hubby needs help with things like that. The one year I didnt give him a list he bought me a pair of green jeans and a funky jean jacket...yes it's the thought that counts but it sucks to have to returna gift too...so a list is best.

I have something to share and am hoping to get some feedback from you all.

For the past 3 weeks or so I have been sick or getting over it and recently noticed that I have been getting headches - actually they have increasingly gotten worse over the past 3 weeks.
It's a headache that sticks to one side (my left side) and is centered around my cheekbone, my eye sockets and ear canal...It hits several times a day and ususallu during the day an advil will ease the pain and make it go away all together...but then comes night time - bed time...I go to bed and am awakened around 1:30 a.m. and the pain is terrible - the pill doesn't help the pain at night...it's pretty painful and long lasting....
I hate it...I feel like staying in bed all day just to be at ease...it is so unlike my character...It almost brings on a sort of depression...like you just want the pain to go away and feel so unlike yourself...you feel miserable...scary really...
Ever go through something like this???

I thought it was a tooth ache but my tooth doesn't hurt.
I looked it up and it sounds like cluster headaches.
But it seems that there is no solution...it can last up to 10 days straight - I hope that this is wrong. I hope that I don't have to endure this type of pain for the rest of my life...

Do you have any ideas? Do you know what can get me through this?
I am scared that this is the beginning of something icky.
I miss my old self...

Help....

busy little elves

Don't know about you but I am up to my eyeballs in Christmas preparations.
I have been doing alot of baking this weekend.
This was a tradition I shared with my mom and now that she is gone I feel like i should carry it on. So with my girls in tow and their buddy we started baking.
Not sure if you have baked with kids but their attention to detail and their attention span is short.
My plan was to make the batters and let them spoon them out then throw them in the oven and move on to the next set...started off that way but towards the end I was doing it all.
We made gingerbread "things", chocolate chip, peanut butter, snickerdoodles and peanut butter thumb print cookies.
We were definitely busy little "elves" or at least I was.

How are you plans going?

Hope you take time to take it all in and enjoy some of the preparations.

gettin my scrap on

It has been a long while since I scrapbooked and since I had pictures out to celebrate my daughter's 10th birtday I decided to pull out my supplies and a scrapping I went.
Another fun thing I did was use digi images on my scrapbook page. So very different for me.

These images are from squigglefly (I believe) and are representing 2 different time periods: my girl as a little girl and a tweenager...

Here she is when she was a little...sweet in her dress up shoes and baseball cap.
She always had a flare for fashion - LOL

As a tween (10 - tween???) yeah, not sure she qualifies by age to be a tween but her attitude sure puts her in the tween phase - too soon I know. This was taken the night before her 10th birthday - isn't she a knock out?
My how time flies.
I love how this turned out.

Here is a close up of the journaling part of my page and the small embellishments that I added. Simple really - the digi images and the photos are what took center stage.

Hope you like it.
Hope your holiday is going off without a hitch.

ALL ABOARD to CHAOS

O.k. so my thought was we would buy a gingerbread train so that the kids could start and finish something together. You know TEAM WORK.
I am just sharing the "GOOD" photos here:
These 2 guys were the CONSTRUCTION workers...they put the train together...well
almost (mom and dad had to guide them) really at 16 and 19 they couldn't follow directions...what's up with that?
here is the train upright and ready for decorating...

These 2 girls plus one little out of control boy (not pictured) put on the decorations.
A little over done if you ask me.
Can I just say that there was alot of yelling between the kids, alot of eating and alot of crying about who gets to do what etc...
before we got to this...

Here she is
The Train to CHAOS
finished and looking not to bad...

After taking on this task - my husband says to me. "Why do you do this? We could have had it done in less time and looking 100 times better." Now while I agree with him and wonder sometimes where my ideas come from. I did it for the kids - good idea or not...
Do you ever have those moments????

Sounded good but then after alot of tears, alot of time and a huge headache you wonder was it really worth it?

I think it was this time...

happy pre-holiday weekend. ya'll

A bit different

for a Holiday card wouldn't you say?
But I think it has a certain calm feel to it.
I have to say that I think I had my mom on my mind and may have been
thinking "sympathy card" so the image was chosen for that and then the "peace"
sentiment by Stamps for Life was used to change the feel to a Holiday card...
does it work? I like it.

Lucky for me this card works for several card challenges this week:
digis with attitude - anything goes
sew many challenges - flower power
christmas blog - use a bauble
Pretty Great huh?

Well, hope you r Holiday is NOT the "usual" holiday!

Birthday girl

This sweet DIVA card is for my beautiful, growing fast and super sassy
10 year old daughter. We celebrated her birthday this whole weekend.
Gosh, time flies with your kids.
I know it's sounds like a cliche' but it's true.
She has really gotten big so fast.
She is becoming a young lady. The next few years, I think, will
form who she becomes...a scary and daunting thought.
Here she is last night after dinner ( meat ball sandwhiches - her choice)

Is it cheesy that I still make her cakes?
They love it. Their choice of cake and frosting...

Well, I am soaking up all the moments with her this week and admiring
her growth...as a young lady. Makes me a bit teary but it's all part of life right?

I hope you are enjoying your kids and life...

goodie bag ideas

O.k. now - I would appreciate feedback on my first video and I must apologize for the brillo pad of hair that shows up a couple of times in the video. YUK!

I just wanted to share this idea I did (or am doing) for my daughter's birthday. We re taking her to Disneyland tonight and they allow you to bring outside food in. So I figured I would make goodie bags for her and her pals - besides if I can save some cash why not, right?

Hope you like it.

Doozy of a card

First let me say that I am feeling lots better.
I have to say that I think my mojo crept back into me because
I made a DOOZY of a card.

I should tell you that I am playing along with Tim Holtz' 12 days of tags
and I decided to use his inks and blending tool to do the background of the image.
I used a cute snowflake stamp on top of the ink to create a cool
background - very soft and flakey eh?

I used my copics to color it in and the sentiment is by
Stamps for Life.
I added a HUGE velvet ribbon bow and some pearls as an accent at the top
and 1 lonely snowflake punched from CS...
Girls My MOJO is back....

Lovin' this card.
Member' I said this was a doozy? well my sweet MOJO filled card is perfect for the
following challenges:

STAMPS R US - holiday
paper players - christmas
the crafty pad - anything goes
CRAFT YOUR PASSION - anything goes
EASY CRAFTS - christmas
PAPER PLAYTIME - snowflakes

whew....yeah me.

Hope you are having a wonderful week.
here is a look at my tags (tims tags)

what do you think?

Slow come back

Hi there. I hope you didn't lose faith in me.
I have been under the weather lately.

I amnot sure if you are like the other half of the world
and are following the 12 days of tags with Tim Holtz?
Well. each year I say I am going to try things out and well I usually admire everyone elses
cool art.
Not this year...I'm getting ready to play (day 8 tomorrow) see slow come back
so here is my work desk - has all my Tim Holtz goodness in the ready.
I am prepared.
I even have some tags inked and ready to go to put
together a banner.

Looking at my desk I see that I need lots more of TIM in my life.
I need to take a trip to Michael's and do a little shopping.

Don;t forget to play along this week with WOYWW
and see all the other creative people and their spaces.

SO I caught this wicked cold on Thursday night.
Me and the family went to Disneyland and one of my girls didn't dress warm
enough and since I was worried about her I gave up my jacket.
Funny, but I told my hubby if I am sick tomorrow - you'll know why!
I could hear my mom saying -
you better get your jacket on. you are going to be so sick (in spanish of course lol)
and sure enough Friday I was slumped over...
Feeling little better today but I never get sick and not for this long.
I think it has to do with getting older?

Made myself a Get Well card and for any of you who are feeling sickly...
please take care of yourself.

Thanks for putting up with my spuratic posting but all the madness of SHOW season is OVER
and I am back!!!!

Christmas is near

I know you are feeling it.
Christmas is close by.
Actually 24 days from today we celebrate the birth of our Lord
and the kids enjoy the presents...
I am in complete holiday mode and we have our tree out but no decorations yet.
Our tree is gold - totally throw back to grannies tree in the 50's
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my gold tree...

I wanted to play along with several challenges this week so
\I made this sweet card
using a my grafico image and used
pale green papers to give it a monochromatic look.
Green and snowman? not your usual mix...but I like it.

Just add this card to my holiday stash - 53 cards - Yeah Baby!

my card works for the following challenges:

craft your passion - monochromatic
paper playtime: christmas carol inspired

Hope your holiday decorating is coming along smashingly!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
