Brown and pink christmas

that was our challenge this week over at the CSAYL blog -
I love the look of this card...kind of chic looking but I think I messed it up with the coloring in of the packages...ugh! can never leave well enough alone. - the sentiment on the left reads:
"JINGLE ALL THE WAY"
The flowers on the right are embossed and sparkly and come on the paper like that - cool eh?

Well, if you have time why not play along with us this week. You could be chosen as the NEXT guest designer! Also please stop by the blog and check out what the other DT members have created - sheer beauty-I tell ya.

Have a great weekend..

Clean and simple

Can you get any simpler than this...I used making memories vacation paper line and another 1.00 stamp I picked up at JoaNNe's super basic but I think it is adorable - what do you think?

I have been busy making mini scrapbooks again - can't wait to share them with you.

have a great night

a real HUMDINGER

It's been a little crazy around here this week...the girls had their last day of school yesterday - had to get gifts for their teachers, hubby left for an overnight business trip yesterday and well I am beat...HOWEVER...
I did get a bit crafty and was able to make a card:
I used mostly scraps for the base of the cards and some of those felty flowers I have had but hadn't used yet and the image is from SQUIGGLE FLY---cute little nature fairy. Wasn't sure IF the colors would work but I am really digging this card...Hope you like it!

I am calling this a "REAL HUMDINGER" because I was able to make a card that fits a bunch of challenges this week. I am beyond thrilled...

O.K. - first FLUTTERBY #111 - anything goes
SEW MANY CHALLENGES - anything goes
DIGITAL TUESDAY - cute people
COLOR CHEF CHALLENGE #52 - yellow, turqiouse, red
CREATIVE BELLI CHALLENGE #92 - sketch & flat embellishments

SUE EEEE!!! THATS A MOUTH FULL...

Hope you have a creative Day!

Super sweet and girly

isn't this heavenly?
I like it, anyway...
I tried something different this time...2 things actually...
I used those really cool 3-d puffy flowers I see all over the cool card blogs and I didn't add a sentiment. I thought if I left the sentiment off it might work for an all occasion card - what do you think?
I love the color combo too...the purple with sky blue - see why it reminds me of heaven?

I hope you are having a great day

what Scrappy Sunday too?

I know 2 days worth of scrapbooking - yeah for me!
This layout is quite possibly my least favorite - I used these funky letter stickers and wasn't happy with the way they came out. I originally had a great layout planned and love the paper and the photos but the rest well I think I rushed it a bit.

These photos were taken of my girls the first time I set their hair in curlers which was just last month---They were so excited and I had a serious flashback to when my mom would do that for me...funny how things come full circle...
I hope you are motivated to get some scrapbooking done.

Scrappy Saturday

I am really trying to keep my scrapbooking updated...so Here is a page I made of a night me and my hubby went to see Jay Mohr live...at the San Manuel Casino...
There is not much to this page - really just used the love struck paper, 1 photo and the tickets and program from the concert...easy peasy...
I think everything works together and enough said...right??? anymore and it would have gone overboard.

I hope your saturday is fantastic - a little dark and gloomy here in so cal...but I dig it.

Paper piecing Dilemma

Dilemma in that I am not too happy with this paper piecing attempt.
I tried several different stamps and couldn't get the look I was going for - you know effortless!
I am not liking the coloring either...I like the sketch and the chunky ribbon and perhaps the image would look better if I changed it up...
Anywho...please check out the CSAYL blog today and see what the other DT members created certainly much more effortless than this card here....FOR CERTAIN!!!

Have a great friday----

dont forget to stop by Danni's challenge blog and play along...

Giddy Up!

Hi there - so I was busy today, made some cards and finished some albums...
I have had this image for awhile and bought it last year but can't remember for the life of me which company it was from...(if you recognize the image please let me know so I can give them props)

My goal lately has been to make cards that will work for several challenges and once again this one works for several...they include
Scrap-Creations(going grey) - child theme/basic grey papers
color chef challenge - tan.light red and black
creative belli #91- hole punches

How cool is that?
BTW- I actually finished the inside of the card this week as well...any challenges for that out there? LOL

Can't wait to see what you've been up to.

Squigglfly Happy.

My mother in law asked me to make some fun thank you cards for her room moms (she's a first grade teacher) and some paper bag scrapbooks for a couple of her fellow teachers...so I have been frantically making those up...
I chose this image by squigglefly...kind of reminded me of a teacher who needs help..
I printed the sentiment on my computer it reads:
THANKS so much FOR ALL YOUR HELP THIS YEAR.

I made 4 of these cards but used different papers and a slightly different layout for each.
I think I may add a flower or some bling to the cards...didn't want to over do it since they are for helpers and are suppose to be from A teacher...
What do you think?

I bought some more images from Squigglefly over the weekend...and plan on making batches of cards like these. It's fun to get a bunch of cards done assembly line style...makes for some instant satisfaction.

Happy Tuesday!

Just had to share

Not sure how many of you have been to a circus in awhile but MY have things changed!

Only 1 clown

The only thing that was expected that was still around...the trapeze flyers
Fun new act...
LIMBO masters (huh?)

Absolutely NOT 1 CIRCUS animal was used, unless you consider photos with a python CIRCUS-Y?

The (only) clowns acts were the longest of all the acts (15 minutes each)...

The ring master was the bongo player, the trapeze guys were also the ticket takers, the TAH-DAH girls were selling refreshments and the LIMBO act were the guys that set up the nets, the wires, the props...

Wierd eh?

Not like I remember...when I was a kid the circus was magical...the elephants, the bears, the pretty ladies standing on ponies, the 20+clowns all over the ring...the announcers grand entrance the 3 rings for bunches of fun acts. The thrill is definitely gone..well I guess times have changed - not sure if it has to do with the economy or if it is just the CIRCUS "we" saw...
anyhow didn't share the reasonable price with you yet (JK)

we experienced the entire circus excitement
for 150.00
 (3 adults 2 kids + 1 baby)
pricey if you ask me.

Anyway, just saying....

Paper Pieced goodness

Happy Thursday to you all...took a small break yesterday from blogging...I needed to get some stuff finished. Although, blogging and visiting friends online shouldn't take long...somehow when I get online I can get consumed and can stay on the computer for hours...does that happen to you. I did get a chance to make a card for the flutterby challenge #109 this week which was to do some paper piecing...My cute little turtle's shell is pieced - I used basic grey papers on this card so all the pieces coordinate so well together.

O.k. so this super cute card (I think)  works for several challenges:
EEEK IM LOVING when I can make that happen.

dancing in pajamas (TCP Tuesday) sketch
scrap creations - animal theme

check out these blogs and play along too.

Well I hope you have a great afternoon...we are off to the circus...

Scrappy Card

For some crazy reason I had this stuff sitting on my desk-literally JUST scraps...so I decided to challenge myself and while I wasn't sure that the colors would work together I told myself to MAKE it work...
This what I came up with.
I LOVE it. The colors look so good together.
Isn't it SPECTACULAR when things happen that way?
Clean and simple too (very cool)

Can I share something with you all too - something I might I am very proud of...
If you look there in the TOP RIGHT CORNER - right side bar-is MY very 1ST challenge winner badge...for the Color Chef Challenge. I am ecstatic and so happy - finally...I made a card worthy of being picked (or maybe it was random.org) but who cares...I won.

I feel so motivated now to create and submit...look out challenge world HERE I COME.

sleep tight

Mothers' Day albums

Just listed these MOTHER'S DAY albums in my ebay shop - EMBELLISHMENT CAFE
I used lovely papers by K & Co...
Kept the inside pages fairly simple so as to make the photos take center stage...
The photo below is of the 2nd book and I used some chipboard here to really make a wow statement. Painted it and stamped on it...love chipboard.
NOTE TO SELF {use more chipboard}

Nothing real complicated but these would make great gifts for your mom or to give to a new mom...Or why not try it yourself...

Hope you liked them

$1.00 Magic

O.k. so if you are like me you love a good deal.
I shop at Micheal's and Joann's alot and they have some really cool dollar bins close to the register (how incredibly convenient) I always have to go through the stamp bin and I have found quite a lot of really good little sets. There are usually 3-5 small stamps on each 3 x 3 square of stamps and for 1.00 who can beat that.

I used the same set with a different message inside and changed up the colors a bit - I was trying to keep to the manly look...did I get it? These are super clean and simple if you ask me. NO FRILLS whatsoever but I think it needs some flowers {wink}

Don't forget to check your dollar bins and see what treasures are waiting for you!

Have great day

NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY #2

Here is my second project for the day.
Celebrating my little guys first birthday.

Some close-ups of the page...
Those little elephant and tiger picks are from his actual cupcakes at his party...fun to add 3-d items to your pages...and really doesn't add to much bulk to the page.
O.k. so I hope you are getting some scrapbook pages done or at least getting crafty.

Be back later..

off to Knott's Berry Farm...

NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY alert

TODAY IS NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY AND HAVE I GOT SOME PROJECTS TO SHARE WITH YOU...I WILL POSTING THROUGHOUT THE DAY-so please stop back by later...

Project #1
My daughters were invited to a birthday party Wednesday and I wanted to steer away from the usual store bought gift = (save money)...so I made this mini album. It's a paper bag album - using paper bags as the pages covered with fun KI memories papers.
Some fun inside pages... I even offered to put the pictures in the album for the little girls mom - to ensure that the pics get into the album ASAP.
The album is very girly and I am happy to report that she loved it and even more so that her name was on it (she's 8)

I am also pleased to say that this album was quick for me to make. I have finally fallen into a groove and can turn them out in about 45 minutes without interruption. Which is rare.

I hope you like it - and let me know if I can make a custom album for you.

Have a great day!
