This weeks challenge over at CHRISTMAS STAMPIN ALL YEAR LONG blog was to make an easel card and here is my take...LOVE IT!
Make sure that you visit the CSAYL blog and see what the rest of the DT members put together...you will be so impressed.

I have some more albums to share this weekend - so please come back by and check them out.

Have a great weekend if I don't talk to you again sooner.

Happy Butterfly

It's another wednesday and that means that its Flutterby time...this week we were to make a clean and simple card. I know my card is so "that" I used some fun basic grey bittersweet papers and thats it - my image is colored with copics and I used some fun prima paper flowers.
I am also happy to say that I am entering this over at the
for their BIRTHDAY challenge this week...
You should stop by both and play along too.

If TODAY is your birthday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to you

Scrappy Card

Arghhh!! Blogger sometimes decides to change things that are perfectly o.k.

Anyway, I had fun today making some fun things. Couple of cards, and finished a few more albums.
This here is a card for the Saturday Scrap Pile challenge - which just happens to be a sketch and I love it. I usually have a hard time making boy cards but this one came out super cute {patting myself on the back}
Well, it feels good to be creating again.
I have lots more to share so come by again tomorrow if you have time.

We're back

We had a fantastic trip up north but I can say that it is good to be back home.
The being UP there and the being home is wonderful but the drive in between is excrutiating...
Not really - but 9 hours in a car with frequent bathroom stops and non stop bickering - well let's just say the confinement can drive you to drink...lots of STARBUCKS {wink}

I haven't had time to play with paper and ink so I am really excited to get busy. I found a few fun places that had all the goodies I love so I am anxious to get started.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
COme back to see more tomorrow.

Christmas Sketch

This week over at the CSAYL blog we were given a sketch and here is my take on it.
Not exactly by the book but it totally works.
I love this cute little pixie elf. She is a real doll...my coloring wasn't exactly my finer moment but she is cute - I don't think I could really make her ugly.
I even used valentine paper here quirky I know! - but it works wouldn't you say?
Please stop by the CSAYL blog and check out what the other DT members created you will fall in LOVE with all the samples. If you have a chance why not join us and try out our sketch.

I wish you all a great weekend we are off to San Francisco to shop and relax.

FLutter By Wednesday

This week for Flutter By wednesday we were given a sketch and what a fun one it was. I really am lovin' my card - the muted colors and the look of the whole card.
I have to share that the white background of the stamped image was so harsh against the card so I was trying to figure out what I could do to tone it down...and in the process found a new fondness for my CHALKS....I hadn't used those in a year or so...But I colored in my butterfly and used a large brush to tone down the background...cool eh?

I love when I fall back in LOVE with an unused tool.
Has that happened to you in lately?

Don't forget to visit Danni at the BLOG and see all the other wonderful entries...

Orange you Happy?

WooHoo - can you tell Im iching for spring around here?
I guess I should say spring sun with cool breezes.
I have to share that this card was originally suppose to be submitted for Prairy Fairy DT call and well never got around to submitting...darn it. Not sure if it was lack of confidence or just time got away? maybe a little of both.
I do envy all those that are on so many DT's but not sure if I could handle the deadlines...somedays I have no extra time - with 4 kids and extra's...yeah sounds like excuses to me too.

I am pleased as punch to be able to submit these to the following challenges:

pile it on - spring

Have a creative week

Picture Perfect

I go this image over on the SQUIGGLEFLY website and when I saw it - I knew it would be a perfect thing to color up and frame for my 2 little girls. This almost looks like a snap shot of them.
I am entering this in this weeks Magical Crafts Fortnight challenge which is to do something girly...so very wouldn't you say?
I have to say that this is the best coloring I have ever done. I really took my time and thought about the copics I would use  - I wanted to make this look very muted and soft. I think I did it. I wrote them a small message inside the card - so that one day a long time from now they find a piece of me left for them. Cool eh?
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

New Home album

Fun new album I wanted to share with you.
FOr those who recently bought a new home or just for a family to share their home with friends.
I used some fun NEIGHBORHOOD papers from Stampin Up!
Added some cute word stickers and my wonderful Prima flowers.
I love the papers and the embellishments - they look wonderfully together and the photo mats are large enough to accomodate some nice photos of your wonderful home.

What do you think?
It'll be up in my shop later today.

Thanks for stopping by today - have a wonderful weekend -

Christmas to DIE for

This weeks challenge over on the CSAYL blog was to use die cuts. I had trouble with this one. I have nesties and and I do have my cricut...but I couldn't get anything to work. SO I decided to use a stamp and cut it out as if to resemble a die cut. I do love the colors of the whole thing...it's cute and simple and handmade.
Be sure to check out the rest of the DT over on the CSAYL blog and see their beautiful work.
Have a fabulous weekend in case I don't talk to you again before that.

Now and Forever...

Just wanted to share one more album I recently finished. This is a paper bag album.
I have created the album using paper bags and decorated them with yummy papers by Graphics 45...This is meant to be a wedding album.
Here are some of the inside pages...
Love these papers - they really give off a vintage victorian feel to them.
I did alot of machine stitching on this album and used the matching die cuts that went with this set of romantique paper line and of course used lots of Prima flowers...
I left stickers out of the album this time so that the papers and the photos made the statement.
Wouldn't some black and white photos look fantastic in this album...

Alrighty then....been real busy trying to get more albums done and some other projects as well.
I hope your week is going off without a hitch.

Have a sweet night.

Flutter Me Happy

Yeah another open challenge week over at FLutterBy Wednesday and looks like it will work for the STAMPOTIQUE CHALLENGE THIS WEEK too.
This is another one of my simple cards...I shared one a couple of posts back...
I think this one came out uber cute.very similar in style actually.
Love that there wasn't much involved and still came together quite nicely and the pinks...yum!

It feels like Spring here in SOCAL -
hope it is just as beautiful where you live.
Happy Wednesday

Mercy Me

Thought I would try my hand at Mercy's Tuesday Sketch I used a wink wink free image for this card and While it's not exact I figure it is close enough. I like when I vacate my comfort zone and try new things. It's quite freeing really.
Another move away from my comfort zone is excluding bread and extra coffee from my diet...I will let you know how that goes and see if it isn't all for nothing...
I think you too should try something new and see if it works out for you too...

Good Luck

a Purple Christmas???

Wow - I MUST have purple on the brain this week.
This time it was our challenge this week over at the CSAYL blog
our challenge was to use purple, white, ivory and gold-yup didn't use gold couldn't fit it in. Not sure I am feeling the snowmen and the colors but it'll do for this week.
If you have a chance you should really play along with us over at the csayl blog - it's super gratifying when November rolls around and you have a TON of Christmas cards finished and ready to send out to family and friends...just something to think about....

Have a fabulous weekend.
I'll be picking the Blog Candy Winner later this afternoon.

Super Simple

Hi and good afternoon.
O.k. so I can say simple is really the way to live your life and now I feel the way to go about making cards. Really, simple can be pretty and way less stressful...I actually have 2 cards to share one for today and one for later...
I had cut the nestie label shapes for another project
(cream CS) and had some extra so I used that as my starting point and went from there. Used one small scrap of K & Co for the base and a small scrap of the same paper for the scalloped edge - stamped my little cupcake and colored it with my copics, rounded the corners and mounted it to the nestie - added my Prima flower and wah-lah...simple no fuss but super cute. Dont'cha think?
Bye for now

p.s. stamp was from the dollar bin at Joannes {score}

Too much of a good thing

Is there such a thing as TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING??? Well, I guess the answer would be yes. Too much chocolate could make your belly ache, too much coffee will make you ache in other areas and too much money - well that's a whole other mess.
As I was photographing this card - which just happens to be for FLUTTERBY Wednesday... - glitter and PDCC#24 - color combination

I noticed that my card was OVERLY purple.
Don't get me wrong I like purple - in fact purple was my FAVE color in high school not so much anymore but seems like a bit much - luckily it works for this weeks color combo at PDCC #24
I glitterfied the wings and added a touch to the center of the flower...using my stickles...and layered pruprle all ova' the place (wink & smile)
Hope you like it...
Don't forget to enter my blog candy giveaway - just click on image to the right...

Have a great night - off to my first sewing class...
should be fun.

Time for Scrapbooking

I came into paper crafting as a SCRAPBOOKER, and have noticed over the course of a couple of years that I don't "make" time to scrapbook anymore. Sad really, because my purpose was to record those special times we had as a family.
So I decided over the weekend to create a layout.

I recently purchased a poloroid pogo printer - which lets you print straight from your digital camera these small borderless 3 x 5 photos...super cute and perfect for scrapbooking. Got mine on amazon for 47.00 - not bad...
I made those little flowers in the corner using my cuttlebug flower die and just layered them and added the ever trusty Brad.

This was a super simple layout and not much to it. I have learned lately that simple is just as nice as too much sometimes.
I hope you are having a fantastic Tuesday.

Cupcake anyone?

This weeks challenge over on the CSAYL blog was to make a cupcake box and let me tell you this was the first one I have ever made...
Here is a shot of the entire box
Side view... and the top where I placed my stamped elf girl.
I like the way the finished product came out but it sure was rough getting to that point - I am not good at following measurements or directions(driving) for that matter...lucky for me my husband is. So together we made the box-I can't show you the back side because there are a couple of creases where there shouldn't be...but the overall look came out wonderfully.

added flower soft to my elf - that is fun stuff - it comes out nice and scattered not clumpy or thick at all.
If you have time please check out the rest of the DT's finished boxes. They are all fantastic. If you have a minute or 30 - try one of these boxes out for yourself...you'll be glad you did.
Thanks for visiting
I hope you have a wonderful Easter if I don't see you before then.

simply sparkling

The past few days I have been busy making some fun new thigns to add to my etsy shop. I have actually gotten a lot done. I have also decided to share some yummy blog candy and will post that tomorrow...
I am not sure if the rest of you have begun your spring cleaning yet...but I have and I am sad to say that I am finding lots of unused and unopened products...I really hate that about me... Do you have that trouble too...So I am planning on listing some of those great items as well. I will share photos as soon as I can...
So on to my card...I am playing along with flutterby this week but after checking out Maria's blog (the joyful stamper) I have decided to submit it to some other challenges...like:
simple doodles-layers
Annabelle Stamps~sketch
Bee Crafty Downloads~birthday...Happy Birthday!!!
Sunflowers & Dragonflies-birthday
I know copy Katter---but sometimes I am not sure which challenges to try and seeing a pro at work is always some great inspiration.

I hope you are having a great week and are getting alot done.
