Does this Work?

The image is by the greeting farm - CUTE eh?
I love this cute image but it was so large almost taking up the whole front of the card that I didn't think there was room to add a sentiment - so I thought I would use the SWAK stamped in blue and add it to the middle - hopefully you get the idea that the snowball IS
SEALED WITH A KISS...
does it work?
This is my submission for Saturday Spotlight which is bigger is better - and well my image pretty much covers the entire card - so I hope this will work....
I am off to Hollywood with my hubby - he is going to look for new music...I hope you are having a great weekend.

TOBY bear baby card

I don't usually make to many baby cards but isn't this little guy from the GREETING FARM just too cute...I also decided to submit this to the sketch challenge over at SCS - yeah thats a first for me---not sure by the looks of the card that you can really see my interpretation of the sketch but trust me it is there...but wait - so I have never really been to the SCS website other than for their tutorials and well I sure had trouble knowing where the newest info. begins - so the sketch I was copying was from a week ago...duh!
anyone know how to get the information that is newest...on that there blog???
anyway - it was the thought that counts right?

Tonight is date night for me and the Mr....should be fun and long over due.

Super Sunny

In the midst of the heavy rain here in Southern California and the snow flurry in the midwest I have decided to make a card that was OH SO SUNNY and submit it in 2 challenges one is a sketch challenge at the sweet stop and the other a color challenge over at Saturday Spotlight -
I have to say that I got this image from a site that was offering a free image to make and use and upload to their website and for the life of me - I can't remember which company it is...please let me know if you recognize the image or know the site.
This leads to me to another question? How do you keep your digi images in order? any ideas?

in the sentiment the sweetest (melissa frances rub-on)
I used paper from Honey Pie by Cosmo Cricket (very Eastery) the squares and the little tulips are from the same kit - you get everything you need in the kit, paper, borders, die cuts, titles...fun paper pak for sure...
Well - I hope this brings you a little sunshine on your Monday morning.

if you want the paper kit or rub-ons I have them in my etsy shop :D

Winter in California

I know pretty sad in the scheme of storms but it's been raining for the entire week...and some really good thunder and lightening storms...this should be evidence by the above picture...heehee
I did make a card that is very much winter....

I used my melissa frances vintage style winter themed stickers again...No stamping just the stickers as the main images...the colors I used are silver, blues and greys and look at the cute snowflake punches...cutesy!!!
Now I know some of you will shake your heads at me when I say "I wish we had a real winter here"...I want the snow and the chill - I long for the days where we can experience the SEASONS - really - I know once in it for a few years I may be wishing for the sun again but I love the cold. I rather be cold then hot...really...While I wish you midwesterners...a serious thawing...part of me would love to switch places with you...truly.

o.k.well time to make dinner - love ya...

I have a secret to share - this card was made using the (never been touched) June 2009 Jenni Bowlin monthly KIT...The kit was filled with yummy papers, flowers, stickers, border, buttons and so much more. It is a huge kit, anyway I was able to make so many more goodies - I can't wait to show you the other things i Made with the same kit.
I actually made this kit to submit to the Sweet and Sassy challenge this week which was to use a sentiment ONLY as the main image on your card...
I love this image and I am sorry to say I can't remember the name of the company that the image came from..anyone know??? duh,,,
I love the colors of this set too...orange, lime green and cream...so spring-y - Hope you like it...

Saturday Spotlight-snowflakes

This weeks challenge over at Saturday Spotlight is to use snowflakes...anyway and everyway you can..So I decided to make a card with a photos of my kids not so much to use as a "CARD" but more to use in a scrapbook layout but I thought how cool it would be to use the card and do the journaling inside the card and then add it to a full 12 x 12 layout - cool eh??? Anyway, I wanted to play in the challenge over there
so I thought why not do a "WINTER" themed card love it....
I used some red cardstock and a paint card some rich red ribbon, MS snowflake punch and Melissa Frances Sticker and rub-on...you can see them here

if you need these you can find them in my etsy shop
So many stickers and so many possibilities...I have anotehr card to share tomorrow using the same stickers (no stamping)

Studio Calico Scrappy sketch challenge

One of my goals for this year was to scrapbook more and what better way than to submit to some challenges. This layout is for the Sunday Sketch for Studio Calico

I had these photos of my girls from a Fashion Show they did at Nordstroms in December - they got to pick out the clothes they wanted to wear - a few days before the show - wear them the day of the show and then buy them at a 30% discount...cool beans huh? They did so well and looked so good - like little diva models...

I wanted to show you an up close shot of the journaling and the doodling I did...I think there is alot of blank space but at least its not white space...but I like it...simple and clean..
here is the sketch:

I changed the layout a bit and didn't quite add all the doo-hickies but I think it is a pretty good take on the sketch.
Stop by the blog and upload your take on the sketch - you have until tomorrow for a chance to win a gift cert...from their shop - winner to be drawn on Sunday...
Have a great weekend...I plan on doing some crafting...cards, scrapbook pages and some art...
What do you have planned???

Have a cookie

I am on the DT over at Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends and this wonderful image is from My Grafico - I couldn't figure out how to adjust the size of the image on my computer program so that is why it is so LARGE...heehee But I actually like it this size and I used some cool paper from a DCWV kitchen pack for the background and just a border portion from another page from the same pack of paper.

I know that you can't really see it too well - but I added some sugar crystal and some fine glitter to the top of the cookie to make it look like one of those stained glass cookies...Simple sentiment reads:
"DELIGHT" added some gems to match...quick and simple
you like?
visit the site and see what other goodies people are making. Cool stuff for sure.

My little artist-strong and happy contest

My 9 year old in-house artist.
Over at 5 minutes for mom - they are holding a drawing contest for Yoplait yogurt...this was her idea to incorporate the yogurt into her little girls outfit. Fasion is what it's all about at her age.
Great idea eh?
There will be finalist picked on the 19th of January.

Flutter Bye #92 - purple fairy delight

Lucky for me this weeks challenge over at Flutter Bye Wednesday
is a free one. I made this card last week but just missed my posting date. My daughter is all about purple right now and seems I have been drawn to it as well in my crafting lately - hmmm---

Isn't the paper lovely (can't remember the name of it) added some two toned colored mats for the image. The images were gifted to me by Danni owner of the Flutter Bye blog - when I was just starting to make cards. She is a sweet gal and very generous. I did color the image with my copics and found a cute plastic purple heart that I added some MM letter stickers to - and of course couldn't leave the prima flowers off...
Don't forget to visit the blog and see what the DT has made up and perhaps submit your own card to the line up---
Thanks for visiting
Happy Hump Day

some Greeting farm LOVE

Isn't this little couple just to cute...it's a 50's style couple so rock-a-billy. I matted these guys with my nestabilitites and used some fun purple Anna Griffin papers and just happened upon a matching acrylic heart and used my staz-on ink to stamp the words
BE MINE.
This is also using the MOJO MONDAY sketch challenge #121.
The Greeting Farm has a bunch of cute digi images and I have to admit that I did have trouble coloring this size image in with my copics so decided to use my colored pencils and I love the softness of it. I am signed up for a class to learn how to color with copics for Jan 30th - finally - can't wait.
Watch out - I'll be a coloring fool.
Have a great day.

1st Valentine Day card

Wow - just got done putting the Christmas decorations away and just as quick the next holiday is on it's way. So in my attempt to add greeting cards to my etsy shop (something new) I start on our next holiday - VALENTINE'S DAY.

I did absolutely no stamping but I love the way this came out anyway.
I like the vintage look (you already know that, though) I used a vintae image added some paper lace, 1/2 a doily, hat pin with lips on it :D and a large flower and for the sentiment I used a rub-on by Melissa Frances...
I am going to make a few more before I add them to my shop but at least I have started, eh?
What do you think?

just had to inlcude this goofy picture of my kids - had them all together this weekend...it was nice - loud but nice...

SLEEP WELL

another LOVE mini album

I hope you aren't sick of seeing these albums yet. Here is another fun mini flip scrapbook.

I made these using left over chipboard pieces and covered them with fun Valentine's paper...

I left the embellishments very simple so that the photos are the higlight of the pages. Besides, the paper is already so busy - I didn't need to add much more.

Here is a view of 2 pages side by side...cute eh?
I am putting this up in my Etsy shop tonight...
I wish you a very wonderful weekend and hope you are able to sit and create something LOVEly.

look how pretty

ack....I am gleaming with this one.
I absolutely adore the way this cute little vintage looking purse came out.
It is a custom order for a sweet etsy customer

I used papers from everlast by Cosmo Crocket in grays, yellows and whites - beautiful!

I am in LOVE with this paper - it is one of those double stacks - filled with lots of papery goodness

I kept it really simple but still embellished it but really wanted the photos to be center stage...
can't wait for her to see it.
What do you think????
sleeo well

Scrapbooking tribute

Hi there - one of my goals this year is to scrapbook more....to begin the new year I decided to finally get this layout done. Truth be told - I came up with the title months ago...and wanted to work my page around the title. I hae never scrapbooked that way before but it worked this time...

I usually scrapbook around the photos - Have you ever been apart of one of those kit of the month clubs? Well, I was doing the one by Jenni Bowlin and loved it...I just stopped because I realized that I had all the UNOPENED kits from the past 6 months sitting around - not good...and not really helpful when explaining to hubby why I need more stuff...

Anyway, all this lovely paper and felt embellies are from one of her kits - isn't everything so rich and yummy??? I think it went well with my mom photos...
Well Happy Thursday to you...
XO

a magical unicorn-do you believe?

Do you believe in unicorns? In a higher being? Do you believe in fairies? Do you believe in wishing on stars?
What would life be like if we didn't believe in the little things? I truly believe in a higher being, I do wish on stars and throw salt over my shoulder for good luck...I think life is lighter that way. I think it is so important to believe that there be something out of reach-almost uncertain but still plausible...it keeps things exciting and up in the air...of course this is just my opinion and in honor of my "beliefs"
this cute card which stresses 2 things...Believe in unicorns & Dream
Both of which I think you should do-no matter how old you are!

Imagine the possibilities
