Happy Night Before Halloween

Well Good Friday night to you all wonderful people.
My kids are super excited about tomorrow night. Especially the baby, he has been talking about "Halloween's" for weeks now...he is that one child that looks for the scariest costumes at the stores and seeks out the ghouls that talk and shriek at Target - he is by no means afraid...not sure if that is a good thing?
I hope you all have something exciting planned and get to hang out with your favorite little ghouls!
You still have till tomorrow night to enter to win my blog candy...scroll down or click on the photo to the right to get to the post and leave a comment there...
Sweet dreams
my lovelies

Prima Scrapbook Page layout

I have been wanting to submit a layout to the Prima Blog for quite sometime now but never got around to it. Well, this month I made the effort and here is my submission.
It is based on a sketch and you have to use Prima products. Lucky for me I sell it Prima goodies in my shops so I used the Morning Song paper kit.
It is filled with bright happy papers - 12 double sided papers and a small pack of matching Prima paper flowers and some black lace...

Well, if you want to own this paper pack visit my etsy shop - I have some more paper packs also listed.
Wish me luck - how cool would that be to win a sketch challenge for Prima.
Happy Thursday

Flutter By Wednesday #81 - going vintage

This weeks flutter by challenge was just to use a fairy or butterfly - so I instantly decided I was steering away from the cute and colorful and going VINTAGE...
I pulled out some sheet music, an old bingo card and stamped on a shipping tag and the scallop oval to finish it off I added a cute little cluster of forget me nots that matched the pale hues and there you go a super sweet and dainty card...love it
p.s. i used a piece of pink flocked vintage wall paper scrap as well...cute eh?
don't forget to visit Danni's blog and play along this week.
See there closely - I even added some sheet music to the inside of the card to make it more cohesive. Check me out...

Halloween Treat container

I know this is super simple but why NOT keep it simple when you are making so many of the same thing - right?
Aren't these cute and perfect for your child's class room hand outs? And shoot - talk about cheap - a bag of candy corn is $.88 and a bag of caramels is $.99 - you can make quite a few of these puppies for less than 2 bucks...how is that for a SWEET TREAT...
I am submitting this as my challenge in Vicki's
Go for it and try it out for yourself....
Happy Tuesday!

Last Christmas card challenge of the year

My kids
Me and the hubby took the kids to eat at John's Incredible Pizza last night. I felt bad for being so busy the past few weeks preparing for my show and thought we could use some family fun time. If you have never been to this cool place - it is definitely a must try. It is family style buffet with salad bar, pasta bar, dessert bar and pizza bar - tons of yummy flavors to try. Then there is an arcade of sorts with rides and golfing and bowling...lots to do for everyone. It is a bit costly when you have a large family like I do but once in awhile it's not too bad. Even my older dude loves going with us. Not sure how much longer that will last.

So today was the last challenge for Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog...and it was to make a diorama. Yeah - well don't look to closely at mine - it is a HOT MESS. But well, I tried. I made this one on my own...looked at the directions on the tutorial on splitcoast stampers but too complicated so I add-libbed it. I like it for my first attempt but this is definitely not one of those cards that I will be sharing with anyone else.

I wanted to let you all know that my show was a huge success. I was so overwhelmed with all the lovely comments from all my repeat customers and well it makes all the work that went into the show totally worth it. I met some new amazing people and hopefully we'll keep in touch. Caught up with some old pals, and even some of my girly girls visited me at the show. Totally appreciate them making the trip down to me.

Anyway the blog candy is still going strong - I will pick a winner on October 31st...so you still have time to tell your friends...I have so much to share but of course no pictures from the show...duh...I forgot the camera - geez...
I hope you have a wonderful Monday

Christmas tags challenge #39

This weeks challenge was to make a tag or 2 for Christmas - Sankari was leading the challenge and what a great break from making Christmas cards
I made 3 tags using images I have used before added some sentiments and then triple matted them and added some ribbon for a finishing touch

This weekend we celebrated another birthday
My Little girls 7th with none other than CHUCK E. CHEESE
she had fun but was getting over the flew so was very calm and collective on her special day.

Wow, they grow up so fast...she is such a good sport - I kind of threw this party together super quick...but she had fun and got lots of fun gifts...thanks to everyone who came.

Happy Monday

Dont forget to check out the other DT members and see their fantastic creations and why not try it out for yourself....it's fun and you get stuff done.

No Stamping Here

Hey there...
So I needed a Halloween Card and well - didn't have my stamps right in front of me but did have a bunch of Halloween embellishments so - put it all together and you have yourself a not so bad looking card (if I do say so myself)...
Did add some layers of paper - to add color then just some 3-d doo-dads from K &U co (target) and some fun ribbon.
Sometimes - it's good to make an easy card.
Super busy around here as I prepare for MY BIG annual SHOW -
VILLAGE VENTURE
Claremont, CAlif. on the 24th - so I am up to my eyeballs making albums and paper goodies
and getting ready to celebrate my youngest daughters 7th Birthday...my how times flies
oh yeah and we are painting and getting for new carpet...
Yeah - lots going on...
Hope your life isn't speeding by - take a deep breath -
I'll see you soon.

Christmas Stampin All Year Long #38 or 39

Wow just now realized how bright the flash was on this card. Sorry
This weeks challenge was a sketch challenge and I am not the greatest at these for sure. I have trouble with size and balance as you can plainly see on this card.
My stamped image is by Anna Griffin (wanted to try something a little different) and is way to small in regards to the other pieces and well makes the card look a bit awkward.
Not to mention that I thought I would be artistic and take my photo off set - yeah well back to the drawing board for me.
Don't forget to check out all the other DT members and check out their lovely creations and while your at it play along.
Happy Monday

New Scrapbook Page ART

Hi - sorry for the lack of posting but I have been working on something super special can't wait to share it with you.
(This is a photo of me as a baby)
But first here is "technically" a new piece of art but after careful thought - this very well could qualify for some scrapbook page ART.
The WORDS read:
"LEAVE YOUR WORRIES AT THE DOOR" underneath the house/
This is what I made in a class I took in Portland at art and soul with the uber talented
Judy Wise...
It's a great class and I think I may try using the same concept on some pages for my kids - these would look cool as silhouettes...eh???

Another 2fer

This sweet card is made for two challenges this week. The first for FlutterBye Wednesday and the second is for Card Positioning System
Check them out and participate - it's always fun when you can finish a card and it works for 2 challenges. But it does take some planning.
I have to crop my photos from my trip to share with you the other types of art that I make.
Happy Wednesday
Sleep Well

jenny Bowlin Yummies

I made this cute little accordion album using a bunch of treats from Jenny Bowlin - the paper the bingo cards, and some miscellaneous vintage pieces.
The little red and cream tag is old and the vintage black velvet above - oh and of course the buttons and XO cards - all vintage...

I love that Jenny's stuff all lends itself to a vintage feel - I have a bunch of these goodies in my shop - so check it out and pick up a few things to make yourself a fantastic little vintage keepsake.
I have lots to share with you about my trip and some great news - with some MORE Blog Candy
I missed you guys...

Bon Voyage

I leave in a few hours to Portland, Oregon to attend Art and Soul and I can't wait. I am going to an art retreat of sorts and the best part is that I am staying with a gal I met last year at the same retreat. I can't wait.
I wanted to leave you with some more ideas for Halloween Projects
the above is a SCRABBLE tile montage of sorts....
This here is a cheap pumpkin that I glitter-fied with Martha Stewart glitter and added a dollar tree crow and skull and some black leaves and tea stained cheese cloth - doesn't it look cool?
I hope you all have a marvelous weekend - I will share all the cool things I make this weekend
sending hugs to you all
XO

I thought I would share
