Christmas Card - CSAYL #36

O.k. ladies the challenge this week was to use 2 different stamp sets to make a scene. That house in the center is from a Debbie Mum stamp set and the rest are from Stampendous...I stamped the images in brown ink and the sentiment in black ink and just added stickles to accent the snowy areas. I thought the image would be lost if I colored it in. I think I need to find a place for a ribbon accent - because while I like it - it still seems a bit plain. Hope you like it!!!
Don't forget to check out the other DT members creations - some really lovely ones out there - also why not participate in this weeks challenge.
Happy Monday
Only 1 day left to enter my BIRTHDAY BLOG CANDY...good luck...

Thank You gift and card

I have had this cute girl stamp for awhile now - I just love her look and just think of the possibilities.
Anyway, I needed to make a thank you gift for my mother in law - she has been on babysitting overload with my kids the past few weekends. I feel terrible imposing on her lately but she is all we have right now. wha wha.....
O.k. so back to the card - used some cool crafty paper from DCWV their 8 x 8 stack and colored my image using my copics...I need to take a class for sure! Added some cool prima flowers and button centers.
On this other really cool blog I watch feverishly called Mish Mash she has remarkable SKILLS
and well she talked about a gift she is known for giving - a coffee mug and plate along with a dishtowel or napkin - so I followed along and bought my mug and plate at ross ($6.00) added some black tea from Starbucks and then my own touch is a small vintage napkin that matches. The colors in the card match really well dont'cha think?
O.k. all - I have a huge mess and headache from the past few days here celebrating my son's 18th bday with the "GUYS" - and it's not over yet!!!
DOn't forget to enter my BLOG CANDY it's a few posts down....
see you soon

Christmas Stampin ALL year Long #35-

This weeks challenge was to use NON-TRADITIONAL colors on our card.
I figured black and gray were as NON Christmas-y as I could go. I decided not to color in any part of the image either - to keep with the feel of the uber-chic card.

Back to School Scrapbook pages

O.k. so I have a new idea....
Monthly scrapbook kit/pre-made pages

This is my passion - scrapbooking - card making and paper crafting. I have seen a bunch of kits for scrapbooking supplies - and ideas on the website of how to use the stuff in the kits...sometimes
Well, my idea is to offer pre-made scrapbook pages once a month - you can buy the pages done or the kit to make your own at home.
I am starting in September - so you can fill up an album in 1 school year...if you stick with me.
If nothing else perhaps you can at least get a layout idea or kick start your own scrapbook pages monthly.
The first kit - is for this months theme BACK TO SCHOOL
these are the pages side by side...a double page spread - cool...simple...yet to the point oh and the best part is they are done for you already...

Let me know what you think - this is for a boy - I am working on a set of BACK TO SCHOOL pages for a girl...it's going up in my etsy shop tonight.
Thanks for all the well wishes - I appreciate all you very much.
XO

Happy Anniversary to Me

I have been happily married to this guy for 10 years (today)
we didn't get gifts for each other - but we are in the process of getting carpet for our house so I guess that can be considered our gift.
We are going out to dinner theater tomorrow night to see
Singing in the Rain...
and the flea market (for me) on Sunday and the record show (for him) also...
I did make this for him - actually it is a page in my journal but it is a commemoration of US...
Do you like it? Have a great weekend...

Handmade Halloween Decor - scrappy projects

Not sure if I mentioned it but I have this big show coming up in October so I have been building my stock up and most of the stuff is being made with Halloween in mind. I just love the holiday. All the things have one thing in common - they are all made with paper - all things paper and some scrappy embellishments...
Here is a Halloween Tussie Mussie

here is a scrappy project I made out of one of those dollar wooden signs...just covered it up with paper, some cricut letters and prima flowers and some k & co embellishments
This last piece is near and dear to my heart 0 since I love all these vintage - I love altered art - I thought I would make a cute little wall hanging out of bingo cards, some clip art and some crepe paper...
Do you like?

I am slowly taking photos of the little fall/Halloween inspired nooks in my house so I can share with you....
Thanks for stopping by tonight...

Chic Christmas gift cards

I decided to try another challenge this week and it is by High Hopes the challenge is to create something related to WRAPPING IT UP - so I thought how about some cute little gift tags that could be added to a gift bag or even a cute little gift.

I used some super CHIC paper - in pinks and greens...just noticed that I didn't add any color to the snowman - need to do that...I changed up the layout on each little gift card and added a ribbon peeking out just for show...inked the edges and left the inside blank to add my own message in.
Hope you like it.
I have some big news to share soon and have some
GI-NORMOUS blog candy in the works to celebrate....
stay tuned....

CSAYL Chirstmas Challenge #34

This weeks challenge was a sketch challenge. Check this out-I used a larger card size that I am not used to and as you can tell my layout falls a little short - one of these days it will all come together. I like the overall card but I think there needs to be something more at the bottom of the card...looks too small for the front of the card. Anyway, following this sketch was not hard at all. Yeah, I think I am finding my way here with my card making skills.
Don't forget to visit the blog and all the other DT members to see their fabulous creations.
Just click on the names in my left side bar...
Hey even better why not try it out for yourself...
Have a great Monday!

from simple to WOW

Do you LOVE dollar stores as much as I do?
There are so many fun items in those stores - I often walk out of there spending way to much - all of which I plan on altering in some form or another.
Halloween is my favorite time of year...
So I was thrilled when I saw these skulls - already glittered - in both black and white...
here it is in it's true form - cute huh?
But then you add some fun clip art images, some fringe and a cool dunce cap and you have a really cool piece of art and decor for your FALL house.
The wording on the hat reads:
FRIGHT IN THE MOON LIGHT
Or keeping it simple yet a little shabby - just add a simple Napoleon hat, some crepe paper and a glittered star and you have a real masterpiece...imagine a bunch of these atop your mantel or in a window frame ---super cool...

Well I hope you enjoyed my little make-over...try it out - the dollar store has so much possibility!
sleep tight lovelies....

Trick or Treat

How cool is this? I so want this hanging from my front porch.
Hanging in the entrance to Camp Snoopy
I had another custom order recently for 50 tags from a client that orders often. She gets these tags made then uses them as price tags...cute idea eh?
This is up close - I used the set by Cavellini - filled with ocean stamps...and tons of colored ink pads...and of course inked the edges

Do you like-y?
Have a great weekend - looks like I am going out for a night on the town...much needed.

Another 2fer- card challenges

I am such a creature of habit and I can't seem to steer clear of making cards the same usual card size...I think it fits A1 envelopes...but it gets to be hard to try and make my layout any bigger than what you see here. I am super happy with this card and YUP - It qualifies for 2 challenges this week...
the first being: Card Positioning Systems CPS
The layout was for CPS and the theme was for 3 clovers...OOPS actually I just realized it was too use a Letter not words...oh well...I tried...
I haven't made a back to school card this year so I am thrilled with this baby...
Hope you like it.
Sleep well.

Mojo Monday Sketch CARD

Ok. so I am trying another sketch challenge...this time it is for MOJO MONDAY of which today is Tuesday but better late than never right??? Check out their blog to see the sketch..I am super happy with this card - I figured I would make the rest of this weeks card challenges all about Halloween. Have you ever had a serious BRAIN FART...just a serious lack of flowing thought...
well here is mine
Yup DUH!!!!!
Oh well, I figured that this was perfect for the type of card it was...kind of lends itself to the feel of the scariness of it - yeah well it sounds good.
Sleep Well my groovy ghoulies!!!

Paper Bag Albums 2nd order

What a crazy weekend. I have been so busy- I was in a huge rush to finish another custom order for 4 more paper bag albums. Here is a 30th birthday album and a couple of the inside pages.
I love this paper by Amy Butler and k & co...isn't it pretty.

I also got this crazy whim to paint my kitchen and well yesterday we woke up and decided to do it NOW - guess what? we started taking stuff down last night and today we painted. Even better we are DONE...best part is we used the new BEHR primer and paint in one and BOY DID THAT ROCK. It covered - the whole kitchen in one coat and NO SMELL...and it DRIED FAST - I highly suggest paying the $32.00 for the gallon of paint. It was quick and easy!
I will show pictures as soon as I decorate it really cute.
(picture this our old color was a mustard yellow...yellow brick road yellow) ugh...
Have fun eating and hanging out with the friends and family tomorrow.
Sleep Well

Hello Friends - Family times

Hi - I was feeling blessed today to have so many good friends that I thought I would make you all a group card. Hope you like it. You can't tell but the pot is raised with pop dots. I also added some super cute little crystal stickers to the front of some of the flowers.
Just had to share this super cute photo of my crew...this was at Knott's Berry Farm - mom is behind the camera...This was taken on the log ride (while waiting in line) can you believe that my little guy gets on with us...the pictures at the bottom of the ride are always so hilarious of him - scared for sure...but always comes back with "AGAIN"...

Here is another cool shot of my little familia in front of the Rain forest cafe. Have you been to one of these. Great fun and so much eye candy for the kids...the animals are so cool and big and real looking...my little guy loves it - the food is a bit costly so it is definitely a once in a great while trip...
Hope your Thursday is going swell for you - enchiladas for dinner tonight - better get busy!
gotta run...my girls are fighting loudly over not being able to find their soccer stuff...Mommy needs to go break it up...

Flutter Bye Wednesday - Birthday Fly

Today's challenge was to make a Birthday card (in HONOR of our dear Danni girls big 40 birthday) and add a butterfly on the card....
So here is my take....I used my cuttlebug embossing die (of which I rarely use) and luckily I had this image colored in so just had to match up the CS
Can you see there I colored my butterfly in with my stickles...just need some glitz just a little bit. I added the black to add a pop of color and then used the vintage striped ribbon to coordinate with the black CS...
Happy Birthday Danni...
Won't you visit Danni's blog and participate in this weeks challenge - there is also a chance for some yummy blog candy...check it out.
XO

visit again soon - as I have some yummy blog candy to share with you all soon....in celebration of my oldest son turning 18 - stay tuned....
