4th of July handsewn banner/bunting

I love all types of crafting - so it is not s real stretch for me to pull out my sewing machine and TRY and sew up something fun -
I made this banner - after being asked numerous times how much my other bunting (the one I use for my shows) was - I thought why not make one for the 4th of july holiday. I used a bunch of different fabrics and just used a template I made up and then sewed them and cut the edges with pinking shears then attached them to some ribbon and added some rosettes I made and some plastic pin wheels...

I am not a GOOD sewer (sp)I can sew straight lines and that is about it. I can't follow a pattern to save my life. But these banners are super easy and quick to finish...
Hope you like it - I will be listing this in my etsy shop...

Happy Tuesday!

It's a WHITE christmas - CARD THAT IS...

This weeks challenge was by Sankari and she decided on an all WHITE card challenge. Yes, I know I didn't follow this exactly...but I swear I don't have white paper...truly I just ran out of my trusty SU whisper white paper - so I decided to use off white/cream.
I have to be honest and say that I have already used this stamp for one of my CHRISTMAS cards but i thought with the vintage look of the card that I absolutely had to use this stamp again.
Oh yeah, and I finally used my cuttlebug embossing plates. Oh yeah - that's right - new tool that my dear hubby had to figure out how to use...but now I got the jist...I love using a new tool - and I especially love the way this looks - the deep embossed impression and then some sanding and - uh ha...love'in it!!!!
Don't forget to visit the other members on the left side bar and see what lovely white cards they made. So much talent on one little blog...
Happy Monday!

Thank you Card

Taking a break from the madness of my life lately and going away with the family for a mini vacation. Can't wait...
This is a card I made a week ago that I had planned to sumbit into a challenge for quick 10 minute cards - this was a quickie card and just added the pretty coordinating flowers to finish it off.

Not much to it but I love it - looks peaceful and do I need some peace in my life right now.

Have a great weekend everyone...Monday my life begins ANEW...can't wait to get crafting...AGAIN>

scrappy Birthday Project

I am still in birthday celebration mood - as is apparent by this scrappy BIRTHDAY cake - I made. I used 3 different sizes of paper machie boxes (Micheal's) and I used modge podge to add the paper to the boxes...then I added some ribbon and some paper ribbon I made with punches.
I attached each box with hot glue. I added some "PRIMA" flowers to the top and of course a real candle...I love it...
I realize that I should have made one more BOYISH but well - I wasn't thinking of my son when I did it - just the BIRTHDAY spirit in me still lingering.
Hope you like it
and if it is your birthday today or tomorrow or this week
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Scrappy Home Decor

This is a scrappy home decor hanging LOVE YOU (u) sign
Just covered some 3 inch chipboard squares in some yummy pink paper - used my glitter-fied silver chipboard by K & CO (Christmas time purchase) added some PRIMA (of course) here and there and at the end to serve as a weight and as a cute finishing touch I added this super big crystal...
Do you like it?
Wouldn't this look cute in either a little girls room or a new baby's room?
yeah - I think so.
Happy Friday - planning my little guys 2ND birthday party (tomorrow) lots to do and so little time...
Hugs

I live for times like this

Over at my moms last night and I caught my 4 kids actually getting along and playing.
I live for times like this - when there is no fighting lots of yelling but HAPPY yelling and lots of laughter. Especially when big brother is playing with the little ones...

Is it MONDAY? CSAYL challenge - I did it!

Gosh - It's only the first day with the kids home and I have already lost track of the days. So sad - maybe I am in denial and it really is just old age.
Anyway, here is my Christmas Stampin All Year Long card for the week.
This weeks challenge was to use eyelets...although my usage of the little guys was super minimal - I like my card.
I think it needs something in the background...

Dontch'a think?
I have big plans this week - to participate in some blog challenges in card making-so we'll so how that goes.
How is your summer going?
Hope swell.
p.s. diet started today - yeah I know...but I want to stick this one out. Keep your fingers crossed for me...please. I need to look DECENT by the end of July for our vacation...not gorgeous just decent.
Happy Monday my friends...

Summers Here

School's OUT and the kids are home. The sun is not out here in SO CAL but the summer has officially started.
Last day of school for the girls - here they are posing for a picture...they are so excited to be almost done.
Me not so much...got to go and stock up on the Tylenol...
Here's wishing you a happy summer with lots of fun stuff planned for you and the kids with plenty of time wedged in for some serious scrapbooking and card making.

My baby boy - double sided

This is the back side of the photo at the bottom of this post
(which I shared with you about a week ago)
It is of my baby boy right after he was born...
I used some fun vintage inspired paper from K & Co...it came in a pad with stickers, and die cuts...love those because then there is no worry about things coordinating.

I find myself keeping things simple - he is a little boy and I don't want to foof up his pages to much. But sometimes I stop and wonder if it is too plain...
The picture below is the page I shared and actually made first...
I know how sad I am and so scattered - but I keep telling myself who cares what order I am doing this in so long as it is getting done...
This photo is of my son who will be turning 2 soon...

sorry it is so washed out...time for a new camera...or maybe I should stop taking photos at night under low light...

Have a great weekend...
sweet dreams my friends...

fLUTTER bYE WEDNESDAY's

I thought I would play again this week...

Danni's Dreams does this weekly challenge all things fairies and butterflies
I am not really into purple but I thought it fit this card perfectly...this is one of those weeds that the kids love to make a wish on (we have a bunch of these in our yard)
Perfect sentiment eh?

It's not real clear here but I used a glitter pen to add a hint of sparkle to the flower petals and the polk-a-dots and punched out some butterflies...I don't think it follows the sketch or the challenge but I think it qualifies as a "SHE TRIED" ENTRY.
Have a great Thursday
Sweet dreams

It's never to early

It's never to late to get started on the next holiday - right?
I bought these LITTLE G stamps and I have been collecting them for awhile...but thought they were to small to add to a card front.
So my initial idea was to make a smaller gift card - after mounting and liking the way it came out I decided to add it to a regular size card front and stamped the stars around the edges to make it coordinate. The 2 blue stars are pop dotted - for a little bit of dimension and a grosgrain ribbon of course.
I think part of the reason that this works - is the color scheme. The white works well. The smaller card opens up so you have space to add a double message.
Happy early 4th of July...
sweet dreams

A little Late But worth the wait * A Christmas Card

I LOVE THIS CARD

This weeks challenge over at the CHRISTMAS STAMPIN ALL YEAR LONG blog was to use ribbon and buttons and I did just that. I used my nestabilities and a cute stamp I just bought and a BIG bow (I always worry about bows being to big and mailing issues) but I figured what the heck. I think the bow makes the card.

Be sure to check out all the others Team members on the left hand side of my blog and check out their fantastic creations. We have some amazingly talented - super creative women making some equally amazing cards...Please visit their blogs and leave them some love!

Manly Card - 3 clovers challenge #16

I have been spying The Three clovers Design Blog for quite some time and she often posts challenges and while I have wanted to try and play along - I haven't until TODAY!
The challenge was to make a Masculine card and use some hardware -
In case you can't see it I used some wire mesh for photo corners and some orange brads to hold the ribbon. It is rather a soft baby-ish masculine card but I think it still works.
Great for a DADS first Fathers Day - dontch'a think?
anyway,
come back tomorrow for my Christmas stampin all year long challenge card - should be a fun one.
Sweet Dreams

Anna Griffin makes me Smile

Same Kit different day...Super simple but classy and elegant and I am so loving the black and white ribbon that breaks up the pink - this is a bigger card then I am used to making but the flower needed some space...Hope you like it
Cozy day today - Baby it's cold outside...taking the kids to the park to feed the ducks and vegging out.
Hope your day is wonderful.

FRIENDS FOREVER

I found a bunch of these cute stamps at the flea market (rose bowl - Pasadena) and bought them not sure what to do with them but loved that they can be colored in - so this little butterfly was just calling out my friend forever. I used some great Helen Grace buzzy bee papers and added some great buttons and used one of those 1.00 stamps from the Michael's bin and tah-dah - I love it...
I made this for you...Hope you like it.

FluuterBy Wednesday - 1st try

This is my first try at the Flutterby Wednesday challenge hosted by Danni
and while this is a combination of a fairy and a butterfly - I thought it would work.

The stamp set if by Paper Artsy - and I used scraps I had laying around and of course my fall to - prima paper flowers - love those and I think they add just the right amount of flare to a card...
Hope you like it!

gotta love ANA GRIFFIN

A while back I bought this huge scrapbooking lot of papers and embellishments from QVC - paper crafting with the pros - and since then I have bought another 2. This was by Anna Griffin and came with paper, her floral punch outs and ribbon and tons more. Well, I finally pulled it out and I made a few cards and I must say I love it.
Used a couple of her coordinating papers, and pop dotted a couple up and then stamped a rose onto some cs then added the sentiments that go with the kit and some of my own ribbon. and Wah-lah a sweet - elegant Birthday card.
