VIVA PARIS

My dream vacation has always been to go to Paris. Stay in a not so nice hotel in the best part of town, eat at all the best restaurants and got to all the great flea markets and kiss at the top of the Eiffel tower...and of course visit all the landmarks. I keep telling my hubby for our 10 year anniversary (haha that's this year) but most likely not going to happen.
I made a tribute card to my dream vacation spot.
Maybe the vacation Gods will hear my plea...heehee
I can dream right?
(the flash was a bit too bright)

Happy Hump Day - BFF page

As mentioned in a previous post - this is the backside of the Cosmo Cricket paper I used on my 2 girls layout...The sewing kind of blended into the background. I think this paper is the best - it is so charming and vintage looking -
I made this cute page for my oldest daughter she has had the same BFF since 1st grade.
It's funny when they say
"you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink it"
Well, that is how I feel about these 2...I had an issue with this little girl in the first grade (being mean to others) and explained that it probably wasn't the best person to hang out with - well - 3 years later and this is who she chooses to be buddies with...They fight, and cease to be friends but the next day all is back to normal.
They are both alpha dog's - both have to be in charge...weird huh?
I think it is cute that she has a best bud and she lives right around the corner from us - so it is a good thing for my daughter.

I am not much of a doodler - per say - but I love to it - and this page because of the payout I chose didn't leave much room for any extras so I doodled - I think the black is just what the page needed.
Funny all the pictures I have of the 2 bff's my little one is right there with them...oh the tag-a-long, isn't that the way life works.
Have a fantastic day
I have a big weekend in store with my pals...and over nighter - yeah i know. CRAZY huh?

see you soon

Cosmic Sisters

I have been busily scrapbooking pictures from years ago. I hate the idea of working backwards but with life as hectic as ever with 4 kids - you do the best you can.
This is a super sweet layout of my 2 daughters - during one of their "WE LOVE EACH OTHER" moments...let me tell you there aren't many of these nowadays..

I recently went on a bus tour of some scrapbook stores and found this amazing COSMO CRICKET paper - I believe it is called GIRL FRIDAY. It is so vintage in style. Like the 70's sheets and wall paper I used to have in my bedroom - I bought some not thinking about what it is I would use it for (isn't that always the case) but knew I had to have it...So I used a sheet, and the border titles from a coordinating sheet - used some vintage ledger paper I had and a scrap that was laying on my table and sewed a big circle over the background - not really thinking about it.
I then added the photo and the border titles to the bottom half and some PAPER POSIES that I made and a small journaling card - I really wanted to keep with the vintage look and I am super happy with the way it came out.
The best thing about this paper is it is double sided and so tomorrow I will show you the layout on the reverse. I love it when I get things accomplished.
Have a great Sunday with your family.

Scrapbook Bus Tour - try it you'll like it! part1

O.k. I know alot of you scrappers out there have heard your local scrapbook store promoting a bus tour...which basically means you get on a bus with other like minded people (mostly women) and visit other scrapbook stores...The best part (in my opinion) are the MAKE & TAKES.
I went on saturday the 18th on a bus tour with a friend of mine...these are the make and takes we made (these are mine)
This one was actually the last one I did at our home storeSCRAPPING GOOD TIMES in SAN DIMAS - cute eh?
It is just a composition book covered with fantastic paper and embellishments...but not just cut and paste - strips, pieces, borders etc...isn't it amazing...

This is the 1st one we did at EVERAFTER in Vista. There was an add on kit to make it into a book - but didn;t buy it. It is made out of plywood - a bit bulky so I decided I would make it into a frame - will share when it is done.
This is the 2nd one we made at THE SCRAPBOOK GARDEN in huntington beach. It is a small 4 page book made out of MDF and it is cute but I think I am going to re-work it to make it sturdier and finished. In this class they should us how to use the copic spray gun...super cool but I am so not there yet...

see the edges (not done) and the spine ripped really easily.

So you see why if you ever have the chance to jump on the bus - to go for it...you'll enjoy it I promise.
Sleep well

I was thrilled to open my mail this morning. I received the cutest card and
I finally got the pleasure of seeing Bella up close and personal...sweet Danni from Dannis Dreams sent me a care package full of stamped images including Bella and some others I'm not sure of their names...but I can't wait to play.

Scrappin BROWNIES

I have been wanting to make this page for along while now. I finally had the chance last night. I bought this paper (brownie/girl scout paper) this past weekend and had all the yummy embellishments already (all by K & CO)

The round embellies below are 3-d and are the logos of the girl scouts..cute eh?

I know I didn't show it off but the collage above is hiding a photo of the entire troop - love it and I especially love the collage of the girl scout...

The letters here are fuzzy felt letters and the troop numbers all came in the k & co sticker pack. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and once again a 1 pager. But it got the message across wouldn't you say?
Sleep Well

Christmas Card challenge #13

Wow - can you believe it - we are on week 13 - ga-narly.
So - I picked the wrong red cardstock for this card. Damn. one of these days I will get it all right.
I liked the way it came out but noticed in the photos that the red is a bit off...anywho
I pop dotted these poinsettias and used some glossy accents so they would sparkle and pop.

This is a the side view - I double cut these flowers and layered them.
Well, I will try harder for week 14 for sure.
Please go visit the other wonderful card makers in our group...it will be well worth your time. click on the links to the left of this post.
Have a great night.

ROCK-A-BILLY goth baby

I am so in love with this paper - every time I see it I buy it. It is so girly yet with a little edge to it.
This is an accordion album I made using this gothic skull paper - perfect for a little girl or young tween...eh?

here is the album standing up - these accordion albums are great for displaying on your desk at work or on a mantel at home - great conversation starter.

Hope you like it - I have it listed on my etsy store...check it out at

Animal Lovers scrapbook layout

As I was finishing this page and looking at all the cute embellishments I realized that we have had one of each of these pets in our home within the past 2 years...yeah just call us the Doolittle's :)
this is a double page spread and while I don't make many of these _ I like the way it came out...

the green border where it reads LOVER it serves as a a pocket. So you could actually add some more photos or some journaling or some special keepsake about your favorite pet.

Hope you like it - have wonderful dreams - boy I am super sleepy...spring cleaning is really tough work. ugh!!!

Double Take

No need to take a double take - I used the same papers on this cute card as I did on my spring card. Boy, am I in a groove this week - card making is flowing...

Knock on wood - I shouldn't talk too soon. I bought some more stamps...these are a collection of acrylic animal stamps by autumn leaves I think...Cool thing is this same stamps set used here could totally work with a baby shower card or welcome baby card dont'cha think? See there, I even stamped on the envelope. I am trying hard to keep my cards with their envelopes so I can actually use them.
Well, hope you all are having just as big a creative groove...
Sleep tight.
