My 2 boys - layout

This just proves that I need a new camera - wouldn't you agree?
I made this layout using Wild Asparagus paper from Minds Eye...It is really simple and basic. I used 1 photo of my 2 boys that came out rather adorable :)
I tried not to add to many frills and such because it is a boy page. The coolest part to this layout is the journaling. It is a pull out piece that I added the ribbon too - can you see it??? Well, I had my oldest write to his little brother on the tag and now it'll function 2 fold - a layout for the family to enjoy and a momento of a time shared between the two of them. Something the baby can read one day - in case you don't know the age difference - the oldest if 17 and the baby is 20 months...yeah huge gap I know...What was I thinking...it sure is fun though (somedays more so than others)

Tomorrow is date night for me and hubby - yipee...have a fabulous Friday night...getting ready to start family movie nite as soon as the baby hits the sack..

Hugs

Sweet thank you card

Sorry I missed you yesterday - but I was a busy girl. I did have a chance to make this cute card - I bought this 1 changito stamp and colored it in with my (few) copic markers and some other markers I had and used the happiest paper I could find and well I think it came out SUPER. I like days like this when everything you do seems to work out in your favor.
Hope today is YOUR DAY!

WIcked cool new album BADGE HOLDERS

I know this is probably not a new idea but I just figured it out. This cool little album is made using those badge tags you get when you attend a seminar or conference. I used COSMO CRICKET honey pie paper which is double sided so it worked really easily no fuss just cut the paper and insert into the badge holder/page
I added some fun little embellishments (of course) and I made this into a family themed album - so the stickers are all family related. I added some PRIMA paper flowers and some regular CS flowers.

There are 6 badges used for this album which makes for 12 pages for photos...these are great for those school pictures or those far away photos or the ALL FACE SHOTS

Well I hope you like this idea and try it for yourself. Out here by us (SoCal) you can by the badges in sets of 12 - for $4.00 so you can make 2 albums this size or one nice 12 pages album (24 pages) I secured this album with 2 book rings and dressed them up with ribbons in matching colors. This would be great to wear to your conference or through in your purse - because these pages are protected. Show yours off if you should make one similar.
Have yourself a cozy nite sleep.

Week 5 CHRISTMAS YEAR AROUND challenge

I originally thought this color challenge would be a tough one. I mean really pink, purple and blue and Christmas - can't work. But let me just say it did. I am super happy with this card. I like the way ti turned out and I think it came out super cute and in case you can't see it - behind the date stamp on the card is the sentiment which reads: JOY
Sorry about the slight blurr of the photo - I am chipping away at my hubby telling how bad I need the Nikon 60 - so I think I am making progress as soon as tax money comes in - it's mine baby. So be expecting some fabulous photos soon.

Just a quick note - that little guy there is now officially in the TERRIBLE TWO's STAGE
Yup and he is 4 months early. Tantrums and demanding - it just started overnight (within the last few days) yikes. I'll keep you posted on how well he does and how well I handle it...
Have a fabulous night sleep.

New Wedding album

front cover
I have been diligently working on new albums to add to my shop. I used the JACK blackboard album by COSMO CRICKET and covered it in lovely papers by k& CO in a wedding theme. Soft yellows, blues, creams and pinks. Makes for a lovely little album {GREAT WEDDING GIFT}
one set of pages in the album
all embellishments coordinate and alot of detail was added - see the inking of the edges of the paper and the rounded corners...super sweet

each page has stickers with references to the big day like:
bride & groom, the wedding party, the cake...etc...

this is perfect to add the photos too and small enough to carry in your purse and pull out to share with friends and co-workers...again most of the supplies were k & co and lots of prima flowers and the album plus I added lots of great ribbon to the rings for a great finishing touch.
I will be listing this in my shop along with some more...
thanks for visiting...

mY SWEET love SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

The colors are very muted in this layout - I used the HONEY PIE line of paper by Cosmo Cricket - perfect for LOVE layouts or spring time layouts and of course EASTER layouts. This page is of my sweet hubby.
Her truly is amazing and my very best friend. Do you feel that way about your mate??? I think in these times - it is very rare I believe. I have been married to him for 10 years this year...yikes...can you believe it. I personally am amazed. I am a handful and I get loud, really loud. I am high strung, I get panicked really easily and need to spend money - like I get depressed when I have no money to spend.
Hence the reason, I made this layout. I wanted him to know and be able to see whenever he wanted a reminder how much I truly love him. How much I truly appreciate him and most of all to let him know that I do feel privileged to be with him. I like him - do you know what i mean when I say that?
I hope you all feel this kind of love for your own mate...and if not try to find it again.
Have a great nite.

Daisy D's 1 photo scrapbook layout-SWEET BOY

Sweet I know - the baby that is. I just got a truck load (stretching it a bit) of great paper and embellishments from Daisy D's. Dont'cha just love their paper lines. Unfortunately, they are going out of business - boo hoo...so I got this line of paper (Baby Boy) and the elements (embellishments) Yummy, cute, boy-ish and works with all kinds of lines. I used three of the papers in this layout. tore the green striped paper to add as a border (going for the wave look) then cut strips from the other papers for a layered border look.
I used their mini tags that read "MY SWEET BABY BOY" and a sock monkey tag along with stickers that read I love you (large round sticker) the heart and the arrow is all from the same line of elements. The only thing from my stash was the large chipboard letters. I have had these for years...from lil davis - I have all the colors. I hope you like it - just used 1 photo again...will try and do some layouts with more than 1 photo. I will be listing these new lines shortly in both my etsy shop and ebay shop (CURDISS6 on ebay) celeste38 on ETSY - stop by and say hi and buy!!! heehee that rhymed.

COSMO CRICKET SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT

For this layout of my pretty little kids I used some new CHEMISTRY papers by COSMO CRICKET. It is really a line for the past holiday VALENTINES day but works well for anytime of the year because it is all about LOVE. KIDS - LOVE go hand in hand right?
I cut circles with my new mega circle punch and cut those in half for the border on the left side and used one of the borders (right side) from the chemistry paper kit and the large flower punch outs are also from the kit.
The little felt brown butterflies are from Heidi Swapp. Love her stuff - Oh, did I mention that on Valentines day we had some time to kill before dinner so my sweet hubby took me to the scrapbook expo in costa mesa and well I loaded up on stuff - mind you I only had 1 hour before they closed...but I managed to get a bunch of great pieces for me and for my shop. So stop by my shops, both ebay and etsy, for some great scrapbooking embellishments over the next few days.
Oh yeah, made a cool little vintage looking card too...but I will share that tomorrow.
By the way, the journaling is in the file folder card behind my sweet sons face.

sketch challenge #4-christmas all year around

Once again, I didn't follow the sketch exactly but I just bought my sizzix big shot and am waiting for it to arrive so I can start using my dies - so I used the basic square here...boring - I know. Another thing...I don't have the best set of markers and am working on enlarging my copic marker collection (WAITING ON THOSE TOO.) but let's just say I am not happy with the coloring on this one either...the snowman is a soft pink and the sheep is a soft blue but looks purple here...I used stickles on the scarf the hat and some red on the tree...
That green ribbon there is a piece of vintage green lace paper ribbon - I also used some muted red and green colors of papers...probably should have went with some brighter colors...anyway as you can tell from all the whining I am doing here - not really thrilled with this card.
I am tired - and I will explain more about my fun filled day tomorrow. I have some fun layouts to share too...
stay tuned and I sure hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day...I did and I even stopped off at the scrapbook expo in costa mesa...wait'll you see all the goodies.

VALENTINES DAY ideas

Some cute little valentines day inspiration pieces... a tussie mussie wrapped in vintage red flocked wall paper and a vintage earring flower center.

some doctored up 1.00 store decorations - makes a difference in the grand scheme of things. Funny thing...about these hearts in the photo above. I had just finished adding the ribbon and was on my way to hang them and well guess what? they disappeared. YUP! I know right, how could that happen. But I have looked, my kids have looked even my husband scouted around a bit and nothing...like a fart in the wind...just gone...all that work for nothing...yatta yatta yatta - over it!
Oh and I know you have seen these before? But they are super easy to make...just punch out some hearts - these are around 1-2 inches {one of the mega punches} I only punched 4 of them, then gather them all together and punch one hole through them all, I used my crop-a-dile. Then put a lolli pop through the holes and fan out the hearts. Add a piece of ribbon and maybe some green leaves (cut by hand out of textured green paper) and a tag and ta-dah cute little treat perhaps for a teacher or a best friend or maybe a sweetheart...anyway thought I would share.

Doesn't it look like a Hyacinth flower? do you know which flower I am talking about (one of those super cool Hawaiian flowers) sorry never claimed to have a green thumb heehee...
Have a sweet nite...sending you hugs

Jenny Bowlin Rocks

I so (heart) the Victoria line of paper by Jenny Bowlin
The paper is the most amazing shades of yellow, green and white with a hint of beige or tan. It is dreamy and vintage-y looking. I made the above cards using her 4 x 4 mini papers and a stamped image from Stampin Up! and my Stampin up! scallop punch along with my coluzzle because I just realized that I don't have any circle punches in succession. Gotta get those...and used some velvet green ribbon, PRIMA Flowers of course and a little PRIMA bling...On one I used a mini cupcake or candy cup flattened and inked - I thought it would be cute but honestly I didn't like the way it looked so on the next ones I didn't use it. I made these for the moms in my girls girl scout troop - we did a big lunch for the families last weekend and they really pulled it through.

Also, using the Victoria papers I covered this 5 x 5 blank chipboard photo cube by MAKING MEMORIES and added more PRIMA flowers some cute green ribbon and buttons - I love buttons. DO you have a huge stash too? This is such a throw back to the 70's and those acrylic photo cubes...tell me you remember those. Only these can be made to go with your decor or for a special gift...baby shower or birthday

Anyway, I have all these fun items in my etsy shop so if you want to try your hand at this please feel free to pick up something oh and of course share your beauty with us all.
I hope you have a beautiful and restful night sleep.

Valentine's Day Cards - easy peasy

I wanted to share a little secret with you. I wanted to make some valentines day cards but I don't have a bunch of cute-sy stamps or stickers for that matter to make some more adult style cards so case in point, I had to think of another way to make some. So I had a stack of valentines day postcards and well I created a little...
I cut down the post cards to fit my card fronts added some paper trims and ribbons bows and even some cute little flowers to the front to make them more "homemade" and well working with what you have really forces you to be creative.
On this card I used a simple bow and double matted the post card and I added that gel pen that embosses (hope you know what I mean) in red all over the hearts to give the front of the card some dimension.

On this card I just added some more of that pen to the hearts and used a punch to edge the paper and added the paper ribbon I made to both sides of the post card. DONE
On this card I added more of that gel pen to the flowers, made some more paper ribbon with fiskars punch (in Pink) and added it to one edge and a seam binding pink ribbon and on this card I used some paper flowers ( I know it is hard to see) but I added 3 flowers for some more dimension...super cute.
There you go some easy cards using what you have at home - you can still take credit for the cards you just had a little help. Try it...and have fun.

Sleep well my friends

Sketch #3 - Christmas All year Around

I know this is a total gnome not an elf but it so looked like one to me. I have to be honest and say that this was a hard card to make because I was hell bent on using this gnome and well it is a rather small image and it didn't take up enough space and so it took awhile to come together. Then I needed to add the 3 embellishments and well I couldn't make it work. I think I finally did but whew...not to sure about this one.
You can barely read it but under the ribbon there is a sticker that says
"SANTAS LITTLE HELPER"
cute eh? if you could see it.
I am working on some thank you cards for some girls in my daughters girl scout troop and some for my mother in law...wait till I share what she has prepared for us...
But for now...I bid you farewell...I mean g'nite...

Baby Boy Layout

This is the perfect example of too much wasted space on the page - see I fell in love with this paper and I decided I would make it work with one photo. So In order to try and cover up some of the space I added a bunch of little bit and bobs...agh!!! didn't work. I should have used more photos in this layout for sure...
Oh and let's talk about the writing on the tag...yuck...Hello - this page is just a mess - but lucky for me the photo of my kid - well he's just too cute so maybe that will distract attention from the layout.

The journaling is my most favorite part - sad huh??? Anyway, see it is good to share the not so great pages - so you can get a perspective of what doesn't work and what does. Lesson Learned...
