Happy Christmas eve

Wishing you all the best Christmas Eve ever.
This is our first day/night that we are staying indoors - nothing to do and no one coming over...getting ready to make some gingerbread houses...drink cocoa and relax.
God Bless

Oh by the way this card I made is using a squigglefly image and using the greeting farms sketch #6

Cooking spa-foo

Had a serious baking bit today - actually started at 10 a.m. and just finished at 4 p.m. Not much in the way of color eh? I made chocolate chip, lemon tea cookies, peanut butter and gingerbread men and houses...Whew...all to give away of course...can I just say that today didn't occur without some major mishaps...like adding more sugar than required, like dropping 1/2 the cookie dough on the floor and having to make more but the biggest mishap was this...

Can you believe that I burned 1 dozen cookies - I think my oven is off. you know too hot when it's at a lower heat...anyway all in all a very productive day - now we are preparing for our first Christmas - my kids are fortunate to have 3 different times to open presents...yeah when you have 4 different sets of parents you have to have more gatherings...anyway I made these cards last year for my family and thought I would share them with you...

I sure hope your Christmas celebrations are going great and that Santa brings you everything your heart desires....

Christmas card re-do

Last year I made these cards here - and while I love everything about them, the colors, the image and the bow - I realized that it needed more like a sentiment for one.
So I pulled these out and re-worked them a bit and here is what came out:

I added some pearls to frosty's chest for buttons, added the sentiment to the left side and some stamped snowflakes in white as well.
It's Cool the way you can change the look of a card so easily with just a few more embellishments...I still believe plain is good but sassing up a card is even better.
I just got the last of my Christmas cards in the mail this morning and now I am done. Just have some wrapping to do and I believe - Christmas eve I will actually be able to sit and wait for Santa to do his thing instead of staying up way too late doing last minute things...yeah for me!

Thanks You Martha

I was looking for a quick and useful gift for the Mother-In laws and well looky what I found in the martha Stewart section of my discount store...shh in case they are reading...These are thank you cards that come with everything needed to make 4 cards plus lots of extras.
Aren't these the sweetest things ever? These cards remind me of something my grandma would have had in her stash but with an updated twist. The insides are made of honeycomb tissue fruits. Then you add you sentiment...Anyway - I tied these up with a big yummy aqua ribbon and wah-lah - finished. I think they will love them...

How are your gift ideas coming? Hopefully you are almost done. Nothing like waiting till the last minute eh? Makes for some mad rushing and excitement. Enjoy yourself.
XO

FlutterBy Wednesday #88

I am feeling a bit unsettled. Like my life is UPSIDE DOWN...and I can't turn it right side up. I am consumed by so many other things right now---I can't breathe and I am dizzy. I am finding NO time to "create" which you know is a must to feel sane at times.
But I love participating in Danni's weekly challenges and as late as it is...I just had to play...this is challenge #88 and it is a sketch challenge.
I didn't follow the sketch exactly but I didn't want to add too much because it is for "expecting parents" and it's too early to know what it is...so I figured the buttons were neutral enough and no flowers or ribbon - in case it's a boy...just real basic and simple.
Don't forget to visit the DT and see their amazing creations and if you are up to it - try playing yourself. Believe me - playing with paper, stamps and ink is a real pick me up.
I feel better already,
Sleep well my friends.
